Hallo Bird and Grateful - oh and Ruby - you posted that long e-mail! goodness! I am pleased to see that all survived today! My other daughter did end up coming so it was pretty noisy but we had fun. I think after my youngest left I was on the sofa and asleep before her car even got to the end of the road! Hubs is working and he called around 5.00 which woke me so I fed the dogs, showered and got my clothes ready for work tomorrow. Am now getting ready for bed. Grateful - I think we had the snow today and yesterday - hope everyone manages to get home okay!

Yes, everything is white, cold, and beautiful today. I just hope everyone here is careful on the roads. I spent half an hour talking to Jack, Riley, and AB, understanding about a quarter of it! Jack and AB have terrible colds, and AB hasn't been out to try her new pogo stick yet. THAT is a hoot just to think of.
So good to see that you've all had great times, I've thought of you often.
Still don't have a clue how to operate my laptop. Hubs bought me a docking station to plug into the desktop computer, so I can carry it around to talk to ya'll. He has me a wireless mouse ordered. I'm such a computer idiot, and he has such a low patience threshold, we haven't got the internet working on it yet. But I will, (I hope!) Can't wait till you have time to tell us about your Christmas stories. Daughter and fam gave us a 'Corn Hole' game, which is just catching on here. (The name has had VERY dirty mean here before!)Quite a surprising gift, but we WILL play with it, probably mostly on the deck at the cabin.
Hoping the roads are good enough and I'm up in time to hit the Christmas clearance sales tomorrow. Plus I want to make some stops in to visit friends and relatives. Oh, and Tay brought her young man here for Christmas, and my men were very impressed with him. Rick's (s) grandson has named him Caw-Ti (?) and son is tickled. Nite, friends, and MERRY CHRISTMAS!!
Birdy, can't wait to hear how your oven comes out. Oh, and I have an idea for you to start a money-making business. Will PM you next week, OK?

Good Morning everyone. Hope you are all feeling fine this crisp morning? Bird, you oven really does look wonderful - can't wait to hear how it works. Grateful - hope you get some rest today and have a good day. think of me with the 'returns' crowds!!! Actually I am in three hours before we open and will be changing displays and stickering stuff for clearance etc so my day will hopefully seem short.

Ruby - your new laptop sounds awesome - hope that you manage to get it sorted out soon. What a wonderful present for you. So pleased that everyone there had such a good time.

What is boxing day? Do you put books in boxes? Or maybe put on the gloves?...got up late it is so windy and cold. Think Grateful and Sun sent it down here. No snow but sounded like a bit of ice last night. Looks like snow a bit around Jax you get any MB? Sounds like everyone had a good day yesterday. I'm ready to get the tree out so we will have a bit more room. My kids got me gifts this year since they had money, one gets me a chewbaca toy and the other gets me a where the wild things are toy and a bathroom book. I remember once when they were little I gave them each a dollar in dollar tree for my birthday and one got me a bingo marker which just tickled me to death and I still have it....gonna go for now later b

Good Afternoon Sweet Family.
I am FINALLY home and settled. Christmas was wonderful. We went to Nana's house and they spoiled us to death. Wee had breakfast and gifts. Then we cleaned up and napped and watched tv. Then we started cooking again. We had a BEAUTIFUL beed tenderloin, hand, white potatos, candied sweet potatos, green beans, bread, pumpkin and pecan pie, and so much more. Other family came over for dinner, so we had about 11 people. Then we all curled up like mice in a nest and watched "Avatar". I wanted us to all watch "Elf" but I couldn't find my copy.
Everyone gave us money, and the boys were terribly spolied. Hubs and I were unable to give any gifts, but you would never have known it. I am so blessed to have such loving in-laws.
Sounds like everyone is fine and happy.
I am enjoying a lazy Sunday. Plan on cleaning and organizing a bit, and then off to work tomorow.
I love you all....and a COMPLETELY AF holiday for me......

I am home - I was SO OUT OF THERE dead on the dot at 3.30. Our DM turned up at 20 to 10 this morning - we were opening at 10.00 and trying to get everything set and stickered and he kept finding things wrong - by the time he left we were all so frazzled - I mean we bust our butts for the last month and this is the thanks we get??????? We were all so upset when he left - when the store manager came in, he had to call the DM- he was ticked with what had happened - I mean , he was backing us - anyway it was a rotten start to the day. I was so pleased to get out of there. Not the way I usually feel about my workplace at all. At least our manager backed us. Bum !! And believe me, that is strong language for me!!!

Now, having vented........ I shall take a deep breath and try to calm down and let it all go - I am not there any more and am off tomorrow - have doc appt which is going to take hours in the morning but I still have the afternoon - well, some of it anyway. My manager has asked me to switch shifts with him this coming week so I work Tues, Weds, Thurs openings then have Fri, Sat and Sun off !! Nice eh??

Tony - loved your funny - I did laugh!! sounded like you had a good Christmas - Mama glad that you enjoyed yours too - and well done an on AF Christmas. So nice that folk gave you cash! Rog - I saw you in chat last night and thought about joining in but decided I had better get to bed having to be up early! Bird - there are a couple of different theories re Boxing day - one is that the servants used to have the day after Christmas off and were given their Christmas boxes, the other is that the churches would hand out the Christmas Boxes to the poor. It used to be a holiday in UK - and this is the first one I have ever worked - because of our dear DM, I had to work it. Your presents from the children sounded fun!

Oh Jan - Rog can't be your back up boyfriend 'cos he is mine.

Hey t all my days are free. hahaha well good for you mb got some cash to help out..and cool about boxing day info sun....went out for walk this a.m and it is so cold but lucky i had my old down coat from h.s. but too fat to snap but 2 snaps. Still it kept me toasty. Got tired of sitting around told the kids lets pull out the credit card and go to arcade or chucky cheese but kids wanted to go to mall with gift card and get 5$ pizza so that worked better. Nothin goin on really...b
