I've been out and about today. Cars abandoned everywhere. The main roads are good, but once you hit the schemes (estates) it's just your luck. It's like driving a tram. There is only one track and if something's coming the other way your stuck...literally. Lots of huffing and puffing but all good natured and everyone's helping those that are stuck.
I really do like the way these harsh conditions bring out the generous good-naturedness in people. Mistakes are tolerated in a good humoured fashion and help seems to come out of thin air.
I wish people could feel like this more often.
