We spoke for a week or two and then she left.
They have a wonderful history, which most right minded people appreciate, but a terrible one since coming into contact with 'us', and one of the highest rates of alcoholism in the world.
      Just another thought...
      REALLY???? I never knew that....

Wonderful that he has that spirit, Drag! I'm pulling for you all.
One, the Nations, citizens, didn't name this country; they just accepted it's bounty and blessings. America was named for Amerigo des Pucci, who was an early explorer. It seems the height of pompousness to 'discover' a land that is already settled and inhabited. My grandmother was born on an Indian reservation (tho Indian is another misnomer), the granddaughter of a Nation's mother and a Scottish immigrant father. Hubs grandmother was Black Foot Creek. And one of my best friends is a member of the Cherokee council in North Carolina. Our cabin is on the Unicoi Trail, where the VERY advanced Cherokee were displaced in a blight on this country's soul, in the infamous trail of tears, so there is SO much history there, and so much wisdom in their writings. It all happened because the white settlers wanted the beautiful, rich, farmland, and the gold that can still be found in the numerous mountain streams in the area. As you can see, I love the history of the culture. We who are descendants are not as sensitive to perceived slights as other ethnic groups; other people's lack of understanding is not an issue. And they/we run DAMN nice casinos!! :H Studying, reading, learning, about the Native culture is a real passion of mine. When you ever decide to visit, we'll go to some of the special places around here. Love your posters!
