    Army Thread 19th December

    Hello troops,
No AL, coffee free for years and here am i having demolished 100g of chocolate in 20 minutes, takes the edge off the valium fugg... would kill for an aero but not available here... I am doing my nut trying to work out if a few lines a friend sent me are in scottish or irish - reckon it's scots, now all i have to do is work out the phonetics and explain it to him in french... this is what you get for agreeing to ANYTHING when you have been drinking !! Any scots speakers here that can save me ??

Oh sod it ... while i'm gibbering i might as well add that even as a kid my fave xmas choccy were the liqueurs, ye ken, the ones with AL in.... no thanks i don't drink chocolate either, or xmas cake, or sherried trifle, or poire williams... am i going to have to bring my own xmas dinner for the big celtic binge out on the 25 ? - shite, it's not just what u drink, but what u eat - i'd forgotten :O

Them and tangerines and assorted nuts in their shells for some bloody reason. Nobody ever ate the nuts! Oh... and dates! You were pretty posh once you had that lot assembled around the living room! ;o)

          Enjoy the film Ladeez!

          Hello Troopers!!
Hope you're all having a lovely Sunday. Tips, yours has been heavenly by the sounds of it. Two weeks is not much until your break. And you've got Christmas and New Year's in between. Your vacation time will be here before you know it!!

Zennie, that reminded me so much of our Christmases. My Mom always
bought tangerines - they were considered a luxury - and sometimes dried figs - our equivalent to dates for you - and assorted nuts in their shells. I loved cracking them open. My favourites were Brazil nuts and hazlenuts. Oh my, you've brought back such memories. Us kids helped Mom bake and we always had about 10 varieties of Christmas cookies and 3 or 4 kinds of squares. My Dad's specialties were Christmas cake, cranberry-orange pie and Christmas breads. The breads were homemade, the bread was braided in these big fat braids and decorated with white icing and red maraschino cherries. Slices of that and eggnog (no AL) was our Christmas breakfast.
Your weather sounds shite, but it sounds like you're having a good time with your mates this weekend. We have had grey, damp weather all day and I believe it's going to rain soon. But I'm nice and cosy in our little apartment with the Christmas lights flashing and Mr. Stirly and the dogger both snoring...:H:H

In just under 3 days i have eaten 3 bars of choc, 500g (lemon ) honey, biscuits anything with SUGAR !!! and i do not have a sweet tooth (won't have any teeth if i go on like this :$ ) what's left of the body is evidently trying to make internal home brew !!

              Hiya, Stirly!

Kelvie: have you tried l-Glutamine powder? It helps with cravings for both AL and sugar. It also assists in keeping your blood sugar levels more constant.
