Have made myself a big pot of carrot and lentil soup and it smells delicious, and I'm in the middle of wrapping the kids pressies. Oh and you can all keep your colds to yourself thanks.

Chill, that was my thought exactly. Only JC could come up with an idea like that. Do you know that she has a tea kettle that "moos" when the water's boiled. It looks like a cow. And there was some other appliance that looks like a sheep or something and goes "baa...:H

I expect it makes a mess of the toaster but TBH, I'm in doubt as to the source of this very valuable kitchen tip...

Chill, I gather this is what you're talking about. http://www.englishteastore.com/mr-kipling-mincemeat-pies.html I only ever found jarred mincemeat once since I've been here. I made a pie and ate it all myself.. I had a wee taste when it came out of the oven and decided that "Greek" palates wouldn't appreciate it so I ate it myself. Not all at once tho'. I'm a piggy, but not a glutton..
