For New Years in Philly I will be wearing about 6 layers of clothing in this weather. That's right. I'm one sexy mama...:H :H :H

I'll be wearing as little as possible. :H But if for some strange freak of nature reason I have to venture outside; I'll be wearing about 6 layers too!

We will be doing fireworks. Big thing here cause we miss out on the 4th of July (no darkness)
:flower: I'm not as good as I'm gonna get, but I'm better than I used to be.

            Chill,

I'll be soaring down the trails in Stowe, VT. If things don't go well I'll be wearing a cast!

Congratulation on the upcoming on year AF!

Okay, here's the sad thing. I grew up on skis and now I live in the South.

I have lived in Colorado and Alaska and Vermont! What a small planet!

That's okay, I'll travel somewhere for skiing this year.

What's everyone doing New Years Eve?

Hi everyone! I love reading whats happening for NYE. I'm so excited for you Chill to reach a year AF. What a great night to do it on as there is a celebration going on and you can feel so proud of yourself wherever you are. :l

I grew up in Colorado and love, love, love to ski. Some of my best memories of NYE are actually up in the mountains after skiing. (I'm enjoying these memories as I type ) Have fun Techie! I've never skied on the east coast but hear it's icy.

This year is going to be kinda different because I didn't expect to be in Mexico. I've been here many New Years as well and there are a lot of fireworks. My parents usually get to tired to see them and I don't know anyone my age here... so I'll probably just watch TV and sit by the fire. (I'm living in the interior of Mexico and it gets pretty cold at night)...

Mostly, I'm just looking forward to 2011 to be AF. I'm so excited to see whats going to happen this year!

Choice...wonderful to hear your excitement about being AF in 2011!! It looks like you have some months of sobriety already under your belt!!

Skiing is actually one of the few sports that I love to watch! It is so graceful and athletic! Perhaps in my next life....I will learn to ski properly!

Mexico, by the fire watching fire works sound lovely, Choice....Happy New Year!!

What's everyone doing New Years Eve?

                        Hiya, Chilli

We're hosting a small party at our house (8 adults and 4 kids). None of the guests are big drinkers, so it's bound to consist of some nice music, good conversation, excellent food, and some sparklers come midnight.

Last year I avoided parties because I still felt very insecure in my sobriety. This time round, not so much.

I'm looking forward to celebrating your 1st year AF come the 1st!!! :l
                        I'll do whatever it takes

Chillywilly this year I am gonna celebrate your first year AF girl!
For me, I have never been a big party goer. But used to attend a few in the past made bearable (for me) by copious amounts of drink and other stuff...but now I prefer to spend them quietly with the inlaws near the sea. I probably wont even stay up to see the new year in (you know how I need my kip) BUT new years day weather permitting, I will walk along the Norfolk coastline and let the wind take away the remnants of 2010
Living now and not just existing since 9th July 2008
Nicotine Free since 6th February 2009

I will be asleep before midnight comes around, but I was never much of a New Years celebrator anyway; Christmas was my hard moment to pass through.

I don't think we have to give up those moments forever, but in the early days I really believe a little distance is never a bad thing. I'm learning to enjoy moments like these sober, but real change never happens overnight, it's a constant learning process as we all know.

I think you should do what ever makes your comfortable, but don't put yourself at risk if you don't need to. Spending a quiet night at home is really nice as well.
Sorry to "steal" your post BB but if you insert-little boy- instead of -little girl-it sums up my evening and feelings exactly:H. I'm sure you'll make the right choice for you Chill. And I'm sure there will be a lot of us around on NYE to give support or just "talk". :lexpat xxx

I'm working until 6pm then home to tidy up before 'The Bells', followed by a book at bedtime.
New Years Day is the big one here, where everyone goes from house to house visiting and getting progressively drunker. I'll be spending most of it on my own as people don't come here and Susan will be doing the rounds. I've got a nice steak and kidney pie, roast tatties and mushy peas with my name on it.
I'm looking forward to it actually.
