Yeah, that's what I'm thinking.
So is it selfish or kind of me to do it?
I'm thinking perhaps leave it a couple of years.
And maybe substitute bt volunteering at the local pound.
But my very first job leaving school was vet nurse. I'd come home in tears so often.
But hey! I'm older and tougher now.... on the outside.
And on a completely different topic.. I screwed up coming to the surface diving to-day and my computerised regulator told me I'm in decompression for the next 48 hours...... bugger.
But my instructor (after giving me a discreet talking to) reset my regulator and I'm OK to dive tomorrow, as it only happened at 11 metres underwater, but he has insisted I put forward my nitrox course to some time in the next 3 weeks.
As he said.."you're a bit older, a bit less active and a bit more unfit (how sweet and tactful), so you need to be able to handle yourself better."
That was just after the blast on read and do what your regulator says. A good lesson well learned .

But I am now starting to go on holiday 5 - 6 weeks of the year... Is it going to be fair on an old animal to put it in kennel or cat hotel when I go away? Or am I being too anthro? Maybe Beagle should answer this one for me.I'll do whatever it takes

I s'pse the reason I get up at 5am is 'cause I go to bed at 9pm. Tragic, innit? Off to hang up the chooks, water the Wollemis, shout out to the missing Undie peeps and generally have a normal Tuesday evening. Nighters all.

Evening all :-)
I Wish everyone a most magnificent and sober New Year..
I am in a different place to where I have ever been before.
I've known that I have had a drinking problem for years and have had some really good half arsed attempts at sorting it out..
I have also stopped feeling sorry for myself and realised that it's all self imposed (Bridge will like that!)
I'm over being a piss weak addict, it's bullshit, it's stopping me doing what I want to do and has done so for years..
I want my life back really badly.
I am going to need your help, if you are up for giving it.
Might include talking on the phone, for anyone who is up for it...
Had to change my user name as I have changed internet provider.

Wavey, it is great to see you back! I've spent years being half-arsed about it too. You have to be fully-arsed!
Sapphy - that is great about Lucy!!
Rags - what about fostering animals? It would mean that you could still look after them, but it would be for more limited periods of time. We do it for the local SPCA ...... we used to do Mums and new litters, but since Betty's amputation we decided we wanted to only have adult cats. We currently have Sir George Snugglepuss (George for short!! :H) who was in a car accident and had a broken pelvis and jaw. We've had him about 6 weeks and he'll go back to the SPCA for adoption next week. He's a complete treasure and has made himself right at home!!
Weather has packed up again here! Its supposed to be like this for another week but that will make me feel a bit better about going back to work I guess! I've got another week off the week after that are we are taking Mr B's boy up the East Coast, which he really wanted to see having watched "Whale Rider" heaps of times.
Off for another swim - water temperature at the moment is about 15 degrees I reckon. Not sure precisely as the guys from the Regional Council that take the temperature have been on holiday!!! It has been up to 16 and 17 degrees recently, but it was bloody freezing yesterday!!!
Must off and at 'emNever give up, for that is just the place and time that the tide will turn
