Yes Sapphy, all from rain with nowhere to go. Also found this morning that a section of road was washed away, thus diverting run off through my paddock and creating a creek where there's never been a creek before. It's absolutely pissing through the joint. Reckon I could go rafting if I were that way inclined ...

As it's stopped raining for the mo, I'm going for a nanna nap now - I'm pretty rooted having been up most of the night changing pumps and batteries and stuff. But it's NOTHING compared to those poor buggers in Qld.

Wish Raggsy would check in.

it's just incredible the damage that is happening in Qld. it's a bit like the fires 2 yrs ago, i can't help but be glued to the telly & feel so helpless about what's happening over there.
one thing that shits me though ( yes i'm still shit-able) is that the focus is all on Brisbane city now with the flood waters, but at least they're prepared unlike those poor communities who had that inland tsunami which has potentially killed a lot of people - washed away in cars etc etc. although still the scale of the disaster is hard to comprehend from this end of the country.
i hope all my friends from mwo on the eastern side are ok......& be prepared for more apparently. stay safe everyone.
i wish i could send a huge plane over there & bring all those poor people to West Oz to dry out.....
it may be drought country here but at least we have a roof over our heads, our livestock are healthy, we can live as normal.
the world seems to be spiralling into a shit-storm.

Beags - you're right - it's very reminiscent of the fires 2 years ago and you just know it's going to get worse as they start finding more bodies. It's doing my head in thinking about, not only the people but, all the animals.

Our stuff here has stopped for the moment but we're expecting more ... including a thunderstorm tomorrow and more rain on Friday.

Shouldn't have said that ... here it comes again. After 15 years of drought. Oh, the sweet irony.

Yep we are copping torrential rain and thunderstorms at the moment, but the terrain can cope with the soak up, we are designed for a much wetter climate anyway..but its so bloody warm, thats not the norm...so who knows, I think we must all be prepared for any eventuality in these strange times. My ex has his first floor water logged in Brisbane, but he is safe, high and dry unlike thousands of others in Qld. Bloody hell...the wrath of nature eh!!!!
