Shas and Sapph - yes, I'm totally 'safe'. Thanks. The power might go at some stage but that's a minor embuggerance.

Oh, TF .... wish I could come over and help you sweep that that lot of water out.
A question - is there sufficient infrastructure to manage excessive amounts of water for future drought?? I was a bit stunned to hear that dams were releasing water .......... I know that this an exceptional weather event, but surely some reserve capacity has been built in in a country that commonly suffers drought conditions??
I wont complain about the Wgtn wind ever again ......Never give up, for that is just the place and time that the tide will turn

Aspy , how is your place holding up? Still OK?
Tawn I heard about the rain in Victoria and wondered if you'd be affected. Are you and your property OK.... as OK as can be expected I mean.
I guess you didn't see the alcoholic program last night what with no leccy and bailing out water from your house. It was pretty good. From data the guy was saying, I worked out I that when I was at my worst, I was drinking more than a weeks worth of alcohol EVERY NIGHT!!!!! Now THAT is a sobering thought.
And news just in is Bundaberg is going to get flooded again. Fortunately I have a carton of Bundy in the cupboard.

Good afternoon Undies. Glad to hear you're all safe. For those of you, like Tawny, who have flooding in your area, please keep us up to date. Tawny, so sorry you have to go through this again. For every 60 seconds that you are angry, you lose a minute of happiness.

OK - Just as well I've taught the chooks to come when they're called. I've locked them up three hours early because I'm now going to attempt a 12 hour sleep.

Hi Missy,
The sheer volume of water is unimagineable.... something like 6 times the capacity of Sydney Harbour has poured through just Toowoomba and Brisbane.... Dams cannot hold back the water as they are full to capacity...... as Sapph says Wivenhoe dam is bloody huge. I think it can hold 156% before overflowing. So they've been pumping it out trying to keep the level below that. But it is adding to the inundation.
We may not hear from Aspy for a day or so as they are turning power off in flood affected areas.
And Bridge may be in a damp place too.
Hope they are all safe.
Wonder if TF's situation is worse than she's making out. She must be exhausted.
As am I .
I'm off to bed. Catch you all tomorrow.
