Arvo all,

Finally able to get out and drive into nearest little town where big clean-ups and working bees are happening. Apparently a concrete bench from the riverside park washed up 17km downstream. It's now a very steamy 30C, millions of cicadas and frogs are doing their thing so good humour should be restored shortly.

'Been away for a few days working on my garden, but glad to read back and find out that, although things are wet, you're safe and well and have company, Tawny.
Hope Missy is enjoying her holiday and eats whatever she wants...she can afford it with all her working out and swimming.
Mr G, life sounds so wonderful, busy and positive for you these days. Happy to hear it. Think it must be contageous because I'm living with a healthy dose of it myself. Oh, I forgot to say a while back, the 'inappropriate touching' wasn't quite in the 'molesting' league...just consisted on rubbing her thigh a couple of times and stopping when she told him to. Nonetheless, it was very wrong and a very uncomfortable situation. Funny thing is, nobody actually thanked me for handling the whole situation in the first place.
Beagle, glad you're back on the boards now you're home. The slugs have turned into adorable puppies, haven't they! It was good to hear your voice the other day, and don't forget, I'm here whenever you need a chat.
Bridge, any joy with the toxic houseguest? These things can be so ugly. Thank goodness she's not a relative you have to maintain a relationship with if things go badly. However, here's hoping you can turn this situation around and convince her that life after al is much better and, furthermore, is achieveable.

Ahhh, I thought all the cicadas had flown up to my place.... there's a huge racket going on outside at the moment.

Rags, I haven't read back through the thread yet. I am truly sorry about my behaviour in the past. Drunks do stupid things. I need help. I'm not going to get into any debates about what some people think of me, but I would ask for some compassion please. I believe the worst that can happen to someone trying their best to recover is to hear that people won't forgive. I respect that some of you do not want to correspond with me, but could you please refrain from putting me down further than I am? :thanks:

Froglet, I don't know what to say about your house...is it too early to know about damage ? ie permanent ?

Unfortunately I found Schapelle had quietly passed away in her dust bath yesterday, with Mercedes hovering over her protectively. She has been placed in a pretty gift box, and a ceremony will be had when practicable.

I will get back and have a big read back when my head stops spinning.
I also have a quiet do to go to tonight, although I'd rather just throw my feet up and tell you all war stories from the last couple of days.
It'll have to wait.

Raggsy, I just couldn't tell her about my safe place and have her come on here full of piss and bad manners being obnoxious towards folk who don't deserve it.

As we can SEE.....that is unpleasant and unfair.

Just wanted to pop my head in say hi. We got back from our holiday yesterday. We saw some of the news coverage of the flooding and our family in Oz also had to evacuate (they're outside Brisbane). Was thinking of all of you affected.

Yep, Shappelle the chook. And a valiant femme she was too. A hen of great pride, dignity, and grace.
'Shappy deliver's' i think was her motto.
