Never heard that meaning for it before, but it fits well enough.

The mantra is referred to as ;behold the jewel in the lotus, which is a very shorthand, shorthand mantra for reminding those Buddhists who follow it about the release from suffering, pride, jealousy, hatred etc and the purification of mind, body and speech as a result of releasing yourself from these aversions.

HH Tenzin Gyattso gives a more detailed explanation below.

Grinder! Good to see you girl ... you're looking gorgeous today. Good building site clobber.

Had an early start so ready to call it quits for the outdoorsy stuff today. Roses are great but I'm a bit worried about some trees which are still waterlogged in the new and enlarged brown dam.

Heard a funny story on the radio ... A woman was told it would be best for her and her kids to evacuate before possible flooding of her house in northern Vic so she got the kids into her car, drove to her sister's place and returned home to quickly ...

        wait for it

        vaccuuum!!!!!!
You're not joking about that either are you Oh dear... :H :H

No, Rags - the Vintage Red is not under water. That one is a cercis canadensis or Forest Pansy. Very beautiful and I hope it doesn't cark it.

Yep - that's the Girls' sleeping quarters.

:H:H:H GREAT comeback. Now seriously to surreptitiously zing me in another post is beyond the pale. Tommy Jefferies called me a "forest pansy" in 5th grade. In 7th grade he called me sir. SO THERE!!!

So ... anyone going to admit that they intend to watch Oprah in Oz tonight?

I watched it last night and throbbed it.

                    Thanks for the link Rags,

Wouldnt ya think I would have checked it out properly before getting it etched into my skin? It was back in my drinking days and I didnt think things through very well. Not sorry though, it serves as a reminder to me of all things decent that I aspire to.

Did i eva tell you the story about how once i was a sculptor and went to a big ole interview at a top school... i had done a bazillion miniatures and done some great photo work so when it came to the day...
these critic types saw the folio, went berserk salivating all over the place, then asked 'where's the truck?'
i sunk to the bottom of my shoes as i realised they expected life size versions of my works
BTW the photos were just a bit TOO good!
I was 17 at the time.
                              It nearly broke me.
                              But FORTUNATELY NOT ENTIRELY

I was so surprised when I saw the famous Rodin "The Kiss" in Paris ... it was much, much smaller than I envisioned.
