Bridge - it's all really lovely. If you do the Beetroot dip, add some ground cumin and coriander for the Turkish flavour. Bloody lovely. You can come and have some - just don't stay for a bloody week. And DON'T try to do me a favour by defrosting my fridge. OR washing my curtains.
Okey doke. I'll just drop in unannounced. I'm on my way now actually. 'Bout 12 hours OK ?
No I won't do your housework for you, but I will create a lot of it.
I'll stay so long, that we'll have to end up having one of those uncomfortable little convos about when I'm moving on.
Then when you finally get rid of me, we'll never speak again, just in case I put it on you to come again.
    Right-O ?
If your 8 year old self met you, would they be proud?

Sapphy - enjoy that Maeve, the chair and the tree. Hope you get to doze off and dream of lighter things ...

I've assembled a platter of tucker to be fanged throughout the day. Included is

? a bowl of warmed, marinated Greek Kalamata olives
? a couple of squares of cold Italian spinach fritata
? a bowl of Turkish beetroot dip
? a pile of Indian papadoms with which to scoop up said dip
? some ham hock terrine with French seeded mustard
      ? some great Pommy Stilton

Why wouldn't you enjoy Australia Day? I love this multi-cultural land.
That sounds absolutely delish Tawn. I'd've loved to lash out and gastronomiacally indulged myself but I'm trying to get some of this fat off so for lunch I had...

And instead of the great Aussie BBQ dinner tonight, I'm going to have....... see pic above, washed down with a Bundy.

        TECHIE !!
What a lurvely OZ Day welcom! Thanks Mate.

Tawn, love Wilson's eyes. Dip. Mr Rags is one of the 10% of the human race who cannot stand coriander. I on the other hand, make coriander sandwiches for myself.

Bridge, I have a friend who once told me that house guests are a bit like prawns. Lovely the first 2 days, but then start to go off. (He'd just had 2 lots of guests, fortunately not me and Mr Rags). I always remember that if I'm going to be staying with anyone.

        Sapphy, Mish, Mr G, EVERYONE,

        Happy Australia Day.

PS Went for a dive this morning and swam with a seal !! God it was beatiful.

These mickey mouse la de da ones dont offer enough progression or versatility for individual programming. As you prolly sussed I have a real "thing" for these set ups Rags as they seriously undermine serious operators who do give a damn. They have big franchising power and make it all seem so bloody easy. I am afraid there is no subsitute to working bloody hard and mixing up your training regimes. Doing the same thing ad infinitum will get you to two places: bored to death, and platued real quick....oh yes three.....poor!!!! Sorry Ragsy...rant over...just see red about this
I'd be very interested to hear what the 'solution' might be Rags! One thing I will say for them is they actually care if you go or not.. they ring me up! saying are you OK? etc... so they may be a good place to start. I was once a religously devoted member of one of the most prestigeous gyms in the country.. so it is hard for me to 'begin again' at what I consider a less than glamourous gym. But hey! You have to start somewhere and they are kind and encouraging plus here they have NO CONTRACT! (you should check up on that also)

                Hi Ficks,Hi Sapphy,

Well, seeing I didn't get a copy of the contract I signed, I'll ask for a copy tomorrow when I go.

For my age, weight and fitness level, it is OK for me at the moment. With my knees and back I can no longer hook into it like I could 15 years ago.

I've already tackled them about individual programmes, but the answer to that is work harder on the machine and your personalised computer thingy will tell you when you're doing more than usual effort. I'm going to ask them tomorrow about the endurance programme they mentioned last week. And lets face it any gym workout will involve a circuit of machines.

Yes, they do keep an eye on you, and it is a friendly atmosphere. I really don't want to be in a gym with fashion conscious tights up yer bum stick insects checking their moves in the wall mirrors. Been there, felt so out of place I stopped going after 2 weeks. Plus the instructor moved me to the back because I wasn't keeping pace with the funky cardio moves. That was plain bloody rude.

I'm also topping up twice a week with some Aussiefit videos I've had for yonks, plus some xbox stuff. I'm also walking every now and then too, and have dug out some small weights that were in the garage.
By the time I've been doing this for 3 months, I may even be like a mallee bull

I do take your point Sapph about huge interbloodynational franchises.
