I no longer acknowlege birthdays. They hurt too much!! :H Hoping my kids forget this year. WTF do we celebrate gettin older, after a point. I can't believe when I buy cooking wine, etc., I still get carded. If there's anyone out there under 21 who looks like me, they are in BAD shape!! :H
Good to see you all, but we're slow on the uptake here. Where is everyone?? Everyone needs to check in, and we'd love to have some lurkers post. Everyone is welcome here. Hubs came home more humble than yest, and I had him a simmering stew ready, with butter garlic noodles and buttered bread. Funny how after all the years together he likes to have a tangent now and then. Doesn't matter, it's all better the next day for us. I wish it was for all of you, in your relationships. Kidded him about his next wife, when I'm gone, and we had some fun with that. He's always said he may not stay alone, but he'll never remarry. I've cured him of that!! :H
Big dogs have been beating down the doors, even tho the temps are nice. Like I said, they're VERY spoiled. But they're worth all the trouble. So have to go keep them off the couches, make sure they don't eat the little one's food.
All you MIA's, I'm coming looking for you tomorrow. Get your butts in GEAR!!! You too, T!!

Hey all fellow journey members. Well it's been a rough few days from work and the cold weather that just really gets a person down this time of the year! I just kind of feel like I have hit a bit of a wall in my recovery process right now. Winter here can really isolate a person when it stays this cold for weeks on end. Been working really hard on trying to stay out of my own mind and not let the isolation and boredom when I am home bring down into a relapse. Time to play some card games...read a book...take a warm shower and hit the hay and just keep from letting myself get to down in the dumps right know. Hope everyone had a great day?

Goodmorning everyone, I hope you are well. We finally got some more snow, about a foot and a half, yahooo! Although I have to go shovel now, before work; rats.
Thor, I am sorry you have hit a bit of a wall. Some days are diamonds and some days are stone. Hang in there, like you say, find ways of getting through these hard sober days. It is amazing how deep the strings of alcohol are inside of us, and how hard they can pull. Hold fast.

Well made it through the long weekend and kids off to school, house is trashed I gotta clean and had to go to the shop yest and make a thunder sheet and stand for kids band, busy today kids at lessons after school and then library board meet the kids will complain...gotta get things goin...

Quick check in from me....Hello to all my sweet friends and thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. I am feeling better and taking one day at a time.

It is snowy/icy here so I am going in to work late...but actually I should be getting ready now, I guess. It might take 2 hours to thaw my car out!!!

I love you all and am so blessed to have you in my life. I can just envision a huge van - maybe the Dos Gatos truck - coming down my driveway at any minute if I called on any of you. And that thought is very comforting. Thank you, one and all.

Oh, Jan, thank you for giving me the date of your 50th. It's really not that bad...but I admit that I absolutely hated the thought of turning 50 last summer. But you know what? You can say - "I'm 50 years old and I don't have to put up with that"....or fill in the blank.....you get what I mean.

Morning all...I am here!!
I need to vent about the banking system. I put money in my account on Saturday and they STILL haven't released it b/c of the holiday. DAMN IT ALL!!! I had to borrow gas monery to get home. ok...I am done.

Work is going well. Still crazy, but I am getting it there.
I had a long talk with Bret last night about how his negativity and unhappiness really affect me and drag me down. I understand he is in a bad place, but as sweet Sunni told me, he needs to be aware of how his moods affect others. He listened........it usually takes a few days for him to mull things over.

Guys, I am battling MONSTER cravings....jeez oh pete...they are tough.
Ruby, your hubs and mine sound so much alike. Hard workers, loyal to the death, but a little crabby at times and big old teddy bears underneath it all. I must love him cause it will be 20 years in June.

OK...must get showered. I hope my precious family has a happy,productive, safe and sober day. And when those damn cravings hit me at 5:00 I will think of all of you and be strong.
