    Good morning everyone. Thanks Sunshine, Nora, Ruby, SOBS, Rog, Mama, Saving Grace, and all the rest of you, thank you so much for your kind and supportive words. Some days it really helps so much.

    Saving grace, embracing detachment public notice, really hit home. Thanks for sharing it with us.

        Grace...I LOVED that!!!
        Sweet, gentle Kelly...I listened to the song again and it made me cry and really sums up our family here, doesn't it??? I was driving home last night in the pouring rain wondering if I could make it to the cabin in June.
        Gabby Giffords is going to a rehab facility today. That tragedy in Arizona really touched me.

            Hello all. Another day of my worst subject - technology! It truly is inifinite, isn't it?
            Had a lovely call last night from a dear friend, and I'm reminded we need to firm up some dates before you all get committments. I'm so excited about it, and I won't accept excuses. We'll find a way if we have to do like the Little Rascals, and put on a show to raise money! :H
            I'm still more comfortable on the laptop, so I'll be back later with more.

              Good Morning everyone! Hill - one of the very nice things about our thread is that we are all here for each other - I would be lost without my family here - for whatever reason, I can depend on my friends here - as you have found out - it is a wonderful feeling.

              Nora, - sorry we missed each other last night. Ruby - nice chatting - I had treated myself to a 2nd hand lap top and it was so nice to sit in the lounge instead of in the computer room, chatting! When does your daughter go in? Jan - I am putting off the tap thing until Sunday when I have more time and hubs isn't home. Poor you with your work and getting soaked!! Kelly - how did things go ? How are you???? Bird - how are your children? Is the sick one better and how is your asthma? Rog - dear Rog - thank you for your call and I will be calling on Sunday if I have any trouble!! Vicki - hope all is going well with you too. Saving - that was a lovely post! It is so nice that you are with us here.

              Swannie - please check in. And everyone else who I have missed - I am sorry - you know how it is!!

                I have to be there Tuesday afternoon, and we have to be at the hospital by 5 AM Wed. At least her doc friend put her on the schedule first. (I'm glad to see she gets some perks for all her hard work.) Hopefully we'll be home in the afternoon or early evening. She's trying to chicken out, and we have to remind her it has to be done, better now than when it gets worse.
                What a raw, nasty day here. Wind, grey, cold. I long for spring but won't wish my life away. May just go to the cabin this weekend, then drive down to be with dau, then back to cabin. I may not come back!! I'm not too old to run away, am I?? (NO COMMENT, SUNNY!! ) I'm working on getting my service to work everywhere, but I have my doubts about anything but a land line to connect to at the cabin. Ask T and RC, it's a BIT off the beaten path.
                A warm reminder to get us through.............

                      Hey there Rubes!... guess the quiet is just part of the ole ebb & flow eh ?... ur piccies are glorious... always glad 2 see them... what's that tree in no.3 ?... the one with the white on it... magical... in case i don't check in again b4 wed am praying all goes smoothly with D's op... & you keep lookin after you so's u can look after she !

                      Well I'm doin ok lately... been modding since new year & it's workin out... am slowly lowering levels... aiming 4 zero & then... we'll see... need a clear head because dealing with a court case... someone wants a shitload of ??? from me re. a past job... i don't have it tho... spent all savings last year while not workin... so am praying, filling in forms & hopin at least I get 2 keep the house... want 2 grow my garden !!!... will start in earnest this year... is my recovery project... hopin I'll grow along with it

                      Just realised something... came in a flash now as I'm posting...
                      main reason I've been lurking mostly since last summer is that my family discovered my ID here... blew my own cover... hehehe... they've all turned their backs since then because I overdid it on the wine one night after finding my Ma after a suicide attempt...

                      the anonymity here was what helped me be so honest w u all... so open about all of me... that & ur unconditional lurrrrv... been feelin self conscious ever since cos hid the messy side of my drinkin from family most of the time... 2 protect me or them ???... bit of both i think... anyways I realise now that my need 2 share with you all is stronger than any judgement they may have... this is a great place to be... a blessed family 2b a part of...
                      so what i realise now is... I've been tripping myself up on this one... I have nothing 2b ashamed of... I'm here & I'm trying & sharing & that's a GoodGoodGoodGood thing !!!... ten thousand thankyous 2u all 4 being here xxx

                        GOLDIE!! SO good to see you back. The 'protection' thing could mean both. They prob knew more about your problem, but for your protection in anonymity, I totally understand it. This is like a diary. Others should not invade it unless it's life and death. This is YOUR place, and no one else has the right to your thoughts with your friends.So sorry it happened.
                        The white tree is one of the things the South is famous for - Dogwood. They are wild, considered by many a pest tree. There are hundreds, maybe thousands on my property. Small, unsual growing habits, in the fall they turn brilliant red, and there are red berries for every flower. In spring, looking out across the front '40' is like being warm but seeing snow-covered trees. You can buy them in pink, but I've never bought a dogwood.
                        Here are some 'Meet Up' date possibilities, in a good time of the year. May 28-30 (Memorial Day weekend), June 11-13 (Father's Day), June 17-19, June 18-20, June 25-27. The next weekend is 4th of July weekend, and I don't recommend it! I need you to give me your choices, 1-5. And let me know when is absolutely ruled out for you. Need some help with the planning here. ANYONE who's interested, PLEASE ask me, OK? Just because you're new, lurking, doesn't count you out. We will be roughing it a bit, since I have but 3 bedrooms, but HEY! That's fun.Other threads do this regularly, and it's time we make this happen. We CAN make it happen.

                          And you're not limited to stay 2-3 days. I'll be there, and you're welcome to a longer stay. There are more things to do within 20 miles than I can do in 2 weeks. Don't forget 'Goats On The Roof!!'

                            Rubes - I really wish that I could go. If I can work it out at all, then I'll be there. I'm trying to sneak in a couple of days in June already to visit a friend so I don't think I'll be able to swing it this year. :upset::upset: My thoughts will be with you all.

                              I forgot to mention we're only an hour or so from the busiest airport in the world. Every airline you can imagine, friends.

                                Hey Ruby--by any chance would that be Atlanta airport? I was plesantly surprised that the diet pepsi there was actually cheaper than the little airport I leave from ;-) Still not a good price, but I was thirsty!
