    It's 2011.....are we ready !
    The Journey begins here so get YOUR ASSES IN GEAR!!!!
    so please come here ask for help ,vent ,scream and yell here before you pick up the drink ..
    just do your best and handle what life give you sober that's all you can do at times ..and remember we are here for one another..so lets do this together and Move forward living life on life's terms so lets be thankful and count our blessing ..put the past behind us and learn from our mistakes and this pray help me when i feel down and things arent going as well as i would want them to go

          Happy New Year everyone. Rog I hope that your wife is improving and feeling better today. Sunshine, and SOBS, thank you for including me, I appreciate it. I did have a sober New Years eve last night, the first one in two decades. I feel great this morning, up early, ready to go. I have four days of Holidays, so I want to enjoy being with my kids, get some time in the gym, and pleaseure read. Oh, and watch the world junior hockey championships on TV of course.

            Good Morning Hill - didn't it feel wonderful to get up without a hangover today of all days?? Last year was my first - I had just discovered here and I had two drinks last New Years and also had two last night but was in bed and asleep by 9.00 - and up early, courtesy of my furry alarm clock called Ben!! But I did wonder how many folk are waking up feeling awful this morning and am SO pleased I am not one of them - thanks to this site - I LOVE it here!! Oh - and we love having you here - you are family now, once you are here that is it!! LOL

              I just went thru my 2nd AF New Years Eve in a row! WOO HOO!!! I am so much happier and healther. My thanks to God and this website for all that has been done to keep me AF!

                Hello everyone
                I have been looking at the site now for nearly 2 years....posted a couple of times, but feel I need to get more involved to move forward!
                Have been on quite a wild journey really, but feel very positive about 2011! Have made some real headway with my drinking, managing some good AF time, knowing myself and my drinking habits much much better now, which helps me not to feel so trapped. Planning a 30 days stint now which is good as I have loads of studying to do and two wonderful kids to take care of.....and, a very understanding husband!

                  Hi all
                  Welcome hill. Glad you had a sober eve and doesnt it feel great? Sun how are the dogs getting along? Doing better? T hope sue is doing ok....hey last night 1 kid went to party and I took other to the coffee shop and was a nice night lots of kids hanging out at the courthouse square and socializing and I listened to the band in the coffee shop awhile and walk around downton so then went to pick other kid up from party and was way out in the boonies about 30 minutes and got lost tg for cell phones so got there and parents had big fire and sat around talking along time while kids talk and it was good fun...gonna work outside today bet it is 60 already..will check in later

                      Welcome Geranium and aprilmoon! Aprilmoon - this was my 2nd of waking up hangover free too although I am not AF. I had 2 drinks last night, and am happy with that for now. I agree that this website is the reason for this for me too! Love it here - and welcome to the thread! great place to be!

                      Geranium - so pleased to see you posting here too - you will get loads of support here - you sound as if you are doing really well - it is good to have an understanding hubs - mine is too, although he drinks too, more than me but isn't concerned about the amount - he did cut back when he saw how little I am drinking these days though, which has been really good, so this web site reaches out beyond those actually on it!

                      Welcome to both of you - great to see new faces!

                      And where is everyone else - get up - it is nearly 8.00! OUT OF BED

                          Good Morning MYlife!! It is wonderful - all these people here hangover free! I am beginning to feel like an ambassador for this thread LOL. I love that we are seeing lots of new faces! It is just wonderful - now we just need to get the rest of the family moving!!!

                            Bird - sorry I missed your earlier post - last night sounded fun for you and the children - you are such a good mum!!! Glad that you enjoyed yourself. 60 degrees there? Wow - we had that yesterday until the storms rolled through - now we are down to 28 again. The dogs are doing fine thanks - Maggie has put Ben in his place a couple of times and he knows that even if she is a little old lady, SHE is still the alpha!! He is getting a lot better although he spooks easily, but is fine with me now - he loves being stroked! I bought one of those massage brushes and he was in doggy heaven yesterday!! Maggie was okay with it - but he loved it.

                            Have a great day - I am on day 2 of 3 off so am just pootling round taking it easy and catching up on stuff. Have a wonderful day dear friend,
