Sorry - here is a vent - please disregard!!!

Does my husband think that the money just grows on trees? I am working my ass off trying to take care of everything. He hasn't worked in about 13 years. I am trying so hard to get out of debt and save money. I am currently dealing with all the expenses from my son's dilemas because he is not working and has no money right now. At least he's going to pay me back. But, I have to get him signed up for these alcohol classes, etc. It has to be done. So, I'm paying for the lawyer, classes, fines, etc. Plus, I am going to have to buy him a laptop because his is not going to make it for the next semester. Barely working now. He has to have it for school.
So, my husband looked at the bill we got yesterday from Dell and noticed that I had paid it off. So, he just sends me a message that he's going to look around and see if there's anything that he wants. He doesn't NEED a new computer. He just WANTS one. I didn't even answer him. So, this will be a 'talk' later when I tell him once again that money doesn't grow on trees.
You know what? This is why I'm 52 years old and still have never been able to buy a home. He doesn't have a clue how to save money.

My first impulse would be to stomp a mud puddle in his ass, but I know it's more complicated. Block it, stop it, and then try to explain (if you can), but calm down now, honey, and don't hurt yourself. Some people just DON'T get it.
There were times we had $5 a week for groceries. I'll never forget that.

Nora - Sometimes it is like trying to explain to a 5 year old why they can't have a new toy! They just don't seem to get it!!! Hang in there my dear - BREATHE!! And vent here all you like!

Rog - awesome on the grill! seems odd you using a grill when we have snow outside and more falling though..... Daughter (eldest) is here sleeping off some valium after a dental appt. She really loves the dentist!! LOL

Looks good, T!!
Daughter sent me a pic (which I can't share!), that will keep me in stitches a long time. Background: I bought a bunch of sign stickers for pennies somewhere, and they were the size and shape of reg US road signs, but in pink and blue, with things like 'STOP: GIRLS ONLY', etc. There were also some shaped liked regular road name signs. Jack, fresh out of a bath, took one and pasted it to himself from between his legs up to his chest, and stood there proudly for the picture! :H Daughter said he wasn't as happy when they had to remove it from his,.........um.........sensitive areas!
I can't imagine where my babies come up with this madness! Ya think it's genetic???????

HI everyone,
Hope everything is going okay. Just shoveling snow and painting bedrooms. Pretty exciting stuff. Going to Florida to spend sometime my parents, so it will be good to get away from Ilinois winter. Things just have to start improving (I'm hopeful). See ya soon.

Mas, SO good to hear things are better. Enjoy Florida. Where will you be, if I may ask?At least you WON'T be in the snow!
Tay came to hang around and watch movies, talk today. It was good. Had a good talk with daughter, will post some pics of their snow later. Hopefully the kids will get back to school tomorrow.
Making my (in)famous baked mac and cheese tonight, and deep fried chicken tenders, green beans with potatoes, bread. Hope tomorrow to spend the day doing the paperwork, taxes, phone calls, and work on my laptop.
It's been a quiet day all over, and that's good for a change. Everyone, enjoy your day or evening, take care, and stay strong.

And, BTW, TMB and Gator are doing SO much better since I started RC's skin plan, found a place to buy my own vaccines, wormers, etc. (Of course the 2 little spoiled girls are flourishing!) Found a Rabies clinic I'll be taking all 4, plus son's girls dog, to, and will be only $10 apeice. Usually costs me over $100 each to take them in to vet for everything, so this will help. Just another thing to put on my weekly/monthly calendar to take care of and not spend so much on.
I tell all ya'll this little detail because I know most of you are such animal lovers like me. The only thing lots wince at is giving them their shots, and it's not hard at all, and the bigger ones don't even notice.

Hi all - hey maslow, nice to see you - Florida sounds rather nice - the wind is wicked and just blowing the snow around right now. How long are you going for? Ruby - I used to breed cats and would give them their shots and once you get used to it, you are right - they really don't feel it. Maggie's paw is infected again and I have called Tim (my vet) and am going over tomorrow to get some antibiotics for her - hopefully it is just an infection and not cancer as this is the same foot where he had to take her toe off as she had cancer in it - he said we will try the antibiotics first! She has been tearing round on it today playing in the snow with Ben so has probably overdone it a bit! Lovely to see her playing though - and him too! Has your snow stopped or are you expecting more? I think ours has stopped - I hope! Glad that you had a good day!

Ours stopped, and in fact it got downright warm today. Nightly temps in the teens expected the rest of the week, though.
I'm so glad Maggie had fun. Hope her paw heals quickly and is nothing major.

ok maybe this will warm everyone up ... the final thing that i wanted to do was to see it at night and so sue and i had dinner outside bye the fireplace and it was great to see the outcome of all my hard work
sunshine even when i lived up in nc i was cooking outside in the snow and rain ... when it comes to a man and how he wants to make his steak nothing better then on the grill.. and im still thinking about that first steak was so good and really i have never cook over wood fire .. so it was great had that smoke taste ..
maslow come on over buddy if you are anywhere near hollywood look me up .. but enjoy your family time ..
nora its good to let things oiut in the open so dont give him too much hell but talk with him and he'll understand
iad buddy always good to see you
ruby stay warm and take this down time to relax alittle dont over do yourself young lady ..
