Starty I went out ran for a minute walked for 2 minutes and did that combination for 10 minutes until I got to a mile and that took me a week or two. You do not have to do or go anywhere special just head out of the front door. I am hoping to run 10 miles today. but I started out dead slow and built up gradually within 3 months I could run 10k at a reasonable pace.

                  Good Morning Folks!
                  Running's good
Well, thank God all that New Year, festive nonsense has finished and everything's back to normal. I'm putting the tree away today. Woo hoo!
On a sad note, my uncle died on New Years Eve. He was 58. When I went to have a scan on a lump I found, I met him in the waiting room waiting for a scan. He hasn't been well for years as a result of constant drinking, which he stopped about two years ago. Another reminder of the dangers of alcohol, if any were needed. His funeral is on Saturday on the banks of Loch Ness where my mum's buried. I've not been up for a while and It's a long drive. I'll be up and down the same day but it's beautiful there.
In the meantime, I've two days off and I'm going to enjoy them.

Popeye so sorry about your uncle but what a warning!.
Starty I only started running about 10 years ago but drink got in the way not just the hangovers but the other horrible side effects. I used running as a hangover buster!
Anyway since July and mainly giving up the booze I have gone from strenghth to strength. It is wonderful to run without having drunk the day before!

Good morning guys :hallo: quick hello as I need to get up and seize the day!
1st day back at work :yuk:
Pops 58 is way to young and a waste of a life. Sadly I have many friends in there 50's who's health is not good due to the booze, you are right that we should use this as a reminder to ourselves

                                Good Morning Army.

Looks like things are up and "running". I can't imagine running with a hangover, Anon - I wonder how you did that...

Glad to hear those who were sick are feeling better.

Popeye - sorry about your uncle. Chill is right - 58 is way to young to die. I should know - that's how old I am.

In spite of that, I hope you all
