day 13 no booze, mental clarity is at an all time high, sleeping normal, going to the gym. I am actually genuinely happy for no apparent reason. its making me paranoid lol.
Say, Mr. Fields, I read in the paper where you consumed two quarts of liquor a day. What would your father think about that?

Wino- it's probably all the seratonin from the workouts. I am so much more positive since I quit al.

                    Day 18 with a problem

I was drinking heavily everyday evening after work for almost 8 years. Today I am 18 days sober ( :thanks: MWO writers)

The problem now is, at around 6:30 PM (my usual bar timing was 07:30 PM) I suddenly loose all the energy I was having during the day and goes into an unpleasant mood. But I noticed that I am not getting any urges during that time. Then by around 08:30 PM I feel little energetic and the mood also starts to improve.

Has anyone experienced this? please post.

Akasoto- I haven't had your problem- in fact- I have the opposite problem- too much energy, antsy- and what to do with my non-drinking time...

Sort of, but not exactly. I was accustomed to drinking with dinner, so during a two hour window of time at the dinner hour, I would become irritable. I also experienced urges, however. My solution was to remove myself from the table and find another activity. Since you lose energy, perhaps you could engage in a bit of reading? Or maybe go for a brisk walk if you'd like to re-energize yourself.

The pigs are still flying. It is day 70 AF for me. I really think I have used up all of my 9 lives now with indulging in too much vino and am afraid to go back to even the taste one time because that is all it would take. And it is exciting to see the AF # go up and the scale # to go down.

Day 13 for me, and hanging in there. Still tired and sleeping poorly, but I'm working the supplements and hypnosis CD and will add some more exercise today.

No cravings as such, but I have a few moments of irritability which pass fairly quickly. (Esp at dinner time, when I'm the only one not having a glass of wine.) Can't say I've noticed any weight loss, but this wasn't something I intended to tackle in this early phase of changing my AL use.

One thing I noticed when I got out of the shower yesterday. I don't have any 'mystery bruises' on my body any more. Previously, at least once or twice a month I'd see a bruise somewhere on my limbs and think "er, where did that come from? I don't remember how got that...." No more. It's kinda cool that I'm not 'missing' memories now, and I'm liking that very much.

Hey RedJib I haven't had a colourful reminder of a missing memory in 3 weeks and sure don't miss that too.

Day 31 today, which in addition to feeling great, means I didn't drink at least 372 heinekens at a savings of about $465.00 - my debit card activity is practically nonexistent. With every new day my past love affair with drinking seems to be more and more stupid.
2023 - focus, getting it done, and living the way it should be and being the person I need to be.
