Hey, I made it! Day 30 today! Even though I was a long term binge drinker vs daily imbiber, I never believed I could be AF this long. Well, I was never motivated enough to try, I realize that now. And yes, it was hard, but it was not impossible and going AF was not as bad as I'd worked myself into believing it would be.

Reading all these posts, learning from others and listening to what you suggest has made such a remarkable difference. Thankyou, all of you.

Now, I'm going to continue abstaining while I work out in my mind what goal I want and can really achieve. I have serious doubts about my ability to be a modder, but more time AF could change that. I'm not in any rush, though. This feels too good!

I remember when I was in the shoes that you all are wearing.

I just want to say that if I could do it, and did do it, YOU CAN !!!

I have said I was going to end up in jail or dead or possibly worse and I mean that wholeheartedly.

A post by Kimberly (I remember reading it somewhere - it was well worded) says essentially that all you have to do is make it until you have to go to sleep. Get through the day - if you need to go for a walk, go for a walk, if you need to axe at a tree stump, hit a bag for an hour, exercise, eat, cook, watch tv do any / all of them.

Anything is better than drinking when you are trying to remain alcohol free.

I am actually feeling a little overwhelmed with a bunch of study I have to do today, I have my last exam tomorrow and I am just nearing the end of what I can manage. I torture myself before exams, I really do, that post actually helped me - I just have to get through today and sit the exam tomorrow at 10am. I am not thinking about drinking but actually being able to study and see a line at the end is comforting.

You can apply it to all walks of life!

                              Good luck to you all.

                              Kind of AF since 14/8/09

                              Fully AF since 16/4/11

It's been one hell of a ride.
