Do I HAVE to wear the camo helmet Sir? It's not very, well, you know, stylish Sir!

Doesn't match my Icebreaker (New Zealand superfine merino) thermal top Sir! ( And I know the names of the sheep that the wool comes from SIR! )

raggsy - dont you need something warmer on your legs??!!

Congrats on your colour coordination. :H :H

Missy good advice to Jones there on that dang blasted CYRANO DU BERGEAC diet. Not a bad approach if all you want is to button your trousers over your nose. For me, I like Rags solar aquatic approach supplemented with some kick ass curves sessions. Might be a good idea to get some hard outdoor work in as well to build muscle. I was thinking perhaps a log pull competition at Frogs? Anyhow here is some good diet information that is considered groundbreaking...not new ground, but....I hope our Nurse reads this!?

Right, its a new week, almost a new month, and a new leaf being turned over here!

          Plan for the day:
apple cider vinegar and honey on getting up (done)
cereal and milk for breakfast (done)

about 10:30 - ham and tomato sandwich with my one coffee of the day! (I'm always really hungry mostly in the mornings!)

about 1pm - carrots, celery, hummous plus fruit, plus vege soup

sometime this afternoon - yogurt plus maybe some corn thins if I need them

Was planning on cycling home, but the wind is quite high today so if it hasn't dropped by then I will go to the gym instead.

Forgot to report SIR! A small amount of acai and olive is taken separately each morning SIR! along with 2 magnesium tablets and 2 prescription Vit D tabs SIR! Seems I have a vitamin D deficiency SIR! Could be due to the underwater and desk living and covering up when I go outside to garden SIR!

Yummy breakfast, Rags. I'm not a morning eater, but that's enough to tempt me into making an exception. Try as I might, I can't eat before about 10:00 most days, but I seem to make up for it later in the day.
Right, reportage. Cooler weather today means I can spend a little more time in the garden, so won't dilly dally, but happy to say I'm glad I'm checking in daily once more, as I was really missing you all.

                  Sir!

Can one advise on the benefits (or not) of a high protein diet? I am on one and love it.

Also reported to the gym this morning for my training session with my lovely personal trainer - and a rather dashing young man he is too.

Can you also advise if lusting after young men burns any calories? Perhaps that's one for Nurse Jones.

                    Hi Pte Mishy,

As I no longer work I have a late brekkie, so I never feel like wanting a morning tea snack. It is great slow and fast release stuff, oats bran rasberries, blueberries whatever fruit is in season and a dollop of low fat EASIYO on top. Lunch is usually some baked beans (strain almost all the sauce off) or tuna either by itself with a bit of sald or a sandwich, or fruit. To-day it's a baked bean and lettuce sanger. Then a bit of fruit about 4pm Dinner is the meal I have to watch.

Now isn't that interesting sanger can be a sanger or a sandwich. That'l confuse our northern hemisphere buddies.

                      Hi Charlotte,
I suppose if it works for you, then it's fine, but don't forget your fruit and veggies.

I await Nurse Jones' advice. :H

Yes, still doing friut and veg but have ditched bread (expect one slice in the morning), potatoes, pasta, rice....not that I liked them much anyway.

It is irrefutably the best fat burning exercise in the free world.
By the time you suck in your stomach, sweat excessively due to anticipation and carry the extra kilo of carefully applied makeup around, the weight will drop off you at an alarming rate.

                            Hi Charlotte,
Yep, that's what's done it for me too.. Only very very occassionally have rice with my asian meals, spuds... almost forget what they look like though I have some in my veggie patch, pasta only an itsy bit with spag bol etc. and toast I cut back from 2 slices to 1. Makes a huge difference. It's the coconut milk I miss on my thai style food but it's choccas full of calories.

Rags, I'm just eating my very boring cereal and milk and wish I could come to your place for breakfast!! I'm envious that you still have raspberries - they are by far my favourite berry fruit, but they have a short season here and are very expensive. We tried to grow some a couple of years ago but got precisely 7 berries off four canes :H:H

Got off to a good start today with an hours workout with my morning exercise group. We do it in a park by the harbour and on still mornings like today it is just beautiful and worth getting up at 5:30am for!! Had a bit of energy this morning so pushed myself a bit harder than I usually do. My quads feel a bit wobbly from large numbers of squats and lunges :H:H

Next two days will be a bit of a challenge as I have to go away for a (residential) conference which is usually characterised by free flowing wine and crap food (crap as in nice food, just not particularly healthy). If anyone has any suggestions for getting through it I'd be glad to hear them! I'll take fruit and yogurt with me, but I'm not quite sure how to deal with getting enough salad or lean protein that isn't covered with dressing and oil. (And its a big conference, so everything is pre-prepared)

Miss Behaving - Too bad they didn't have buffet style then you could maybe doctor up your own meal. Do they have a fitness centre at the facility you are staying at? I use to have to get up early and do workout before meetings started when I had AGM's, board conferences etc... at my old job. Drink lots of water! And it was getting up early because we had to be all for breakfast by 7am. Man I don't miss those days!

Sarge - Today is a day off training. Kinda pooped as the weekend is pretty long workouts. But I had a big salad for lunch with tonnes of veggies and homemade dressing. Pasta and veggies for supper to carb load for the week.

Tomorrow starts of the rest of the week with 6am spin classes, yoga, runs and more training. Plus I lead snowshoe hikes mid-day. So no booze for me and an early nightie night.

                                As for today....LAZY but sober!
