I know we have been known for our "eh" expression.

I am notorious for pronouncing the word about "abooouuuuutee". Even my fellow Canadian friends say I really stretch that word out. Can't hide my heritage one bit when I speak. Not that I'd want to...I love being Canadian!

Great pictures RC. After seeing them, I decided to take a stroll through your town via Google Street View. I found your store - you have a sweet little shop. Love the colour.

So, as well as an Undies thread MWO looks like it'll have a Canadian thread too.. Whoopee.

By that time this thread should be Rocking!!I hope you have a great time. For whoever is interested - this is where Rags and Mr. Rags and The Teddies will be skiing...

Yes a Proud Canadian living in BC, just west of the Rockies. Beautiful. Hiking, trail running, skiing, snowshoeing. Our great outdoors makes for a perfect playground indeed.

Love the 4 seasons! So much to do in each of them.

Love all of Canada lived in two other provinces and have been to every province except Newfoundland (had two roomies from there when I was in University). Must make a visit there one day!

Thanks Stirly~let's hope they make the grade for small town spirit in Canada! And thanks for checking the store out. Working on a revamp to survive and thrive! Any other Canucks into Hockeyville? Power has been out in the surrounding area for almost 24 hours in some parts here. Just restored now.

A bit late posting a reply to you RC. Just wanted to say that hockey is one of the things I really miss. It is such a fast, hard sport. Whenever the Winter Olympics are on and we have coverage, I'm glued to the tube. HOCKEY ROCKS!! And let's not forget that most of the great hockey players from North America - still active or not - are Canadians.

I confess I'm not a full fledged Canadian when it comes to hockey Stirly. Loved watching my son play and caught a few games of my friend's son. I heard the term on CBC once, "murder ballet on ice". I think it's very appropriate. I had a distant uncle who was a semi famous player. Nick Beverley - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Interesting reading, Nan dear. I'm not trying to "one-up you" but this hockey player is the son of my first cousin.

His Grandfather was my Mother's brother, therefore he was my Uncle and a professional baseball player.

He was also known as "High Pockets" because of his height. Unfortunately, I only met him once when I was young, but I remember that, because of his height, to me, he filled the room.

Stirly, I don't know enough about it to realize if you had one uppted me. :H Never been one to hitch my wagon on some else's star. I find it quite sad to see people do that.

magsHi Mags. Quebec, eh? Good to meet you. Mr. Stirly and I lived in Montreal from November 1974 to August 1975. It's a lovely city. Don't remember if we ever went to Laval tho'.

I guess I worded that badly. I wouldn't hitch my wagon on some one else's star either. I'm just proud that my cousin's son is so successful at what he loves to do. My uncle was not so successful unfortunately and only played for one season in the big leagues. Unfortunately, he was an alcoholic and died due to the disease.

It's cold here, a mere 7C right at the moment. Could possibly go down to zero tonight and if the light showers that we've been having on and off continue, we may have a light covering of snow in the morning. Sure hope so. inkele:

It's just interesting to learn about relatives being celebrities of sorts. Really sad about your Uncle.

I hope you get just the right amount of snow to enjoy. Wish we could get that warm weather you usually get, wherever it's gone to.

Well, I got my choc fix. I left a big bag of choc covered almonds on the kitchen counter and the sun has melted a good portion of them. oops

As for the snow - these pics were taken February 17th, 2009. As you can see, I'm well bundled up, even wore glasses to protect my eyes from the snow. The third picture is the little road that Freddie and I walk up every day. Usually it looks like this although this is another point in the road..
