    Attention all CANUCKS !!

    Hi there all you Canadians.
Here I am in Silver Star just up the road from Kelowna, B.C.
Am here until Friday on THE most wonderful ski trip, and at the moment sipping a latte in an innernet cafe..

As for the snow - these pics were taken February 17th, 2009. As you can see, I'm well bundled up, even wore glasses to protect my eyes from the snow. The third picture is the little road that Freddie and I walk up every day. Usually it looks like this although this is another point in the road..

Thanks for the pics Stirly. You look perfectly prepared for the weather. Did you have to rush out and buy something? Is that your dogger Freddie in the first?

I read something about your Mom rolling in a vehicle Monday. I'm sure that was a fright but glad that all is well considering. I stayed home Monday but today I did an almost complete 360 rounding the lights onto main street in town. Lots of traffic. Thank goodness they were going slow and no collisions.

Only in Canada...a kiss from a moose.

I got this by e-mail today. Thought you fellow Canucks might get a chuckle out of it.

The man is standing on his back deck which is about two feet off the ground, and he is about six one and 250 lbs so she ( the moose ) is a fair sized critter. This picture was taken near Sudbury, Ontario.

              WHO WOULD HAVE THOUGHT?
If You Build It, THEY Will Come...

This is the actual turn-off From Banff, Alberta, Canada to the #1 highway to Calgary.

Great picture isn't it? They had to build the animals their own crossing (especially the elk) because that was where the natural crossing was and after the highway was built there were far too many accidents.

It didn't take the animals long to learn that this was their very own bridge!
And then you have some people saying 'Animals aren?t intelligent.' Really....?

                      Attention all CANUCKS !!

Hi Tipplerette, fellow Canuck from Brighton ON here. I'm recently back to this site after an absence which saw me quit AL for over a year. Then I had a glass of red wine - my favourite - one evening and before I realized what I was doing, I was right back into it.
What really makes me mad is that I felt so much better while AL free, lost a bunch of weight (now since regained) and thought I had everything under control. Hasn't worked out that way and I guess from reading other posts I shouldn't be surprised at this set back. I guess what matters most is what happens from here.
I was glad you were looking to hear from fellow Canadians. I like your sense of humour too! I've just retired my plaid lumberjack shirt and beaver hat for the summer, put them in the garage with the well traveled snowblower!
So today is day 2 AF - again - and hope it continues.
Best wishes to you Tipplerette, hope you've had a great AF day!

Welcome back Habsfan. My mom lived in Brighton for about 10 years. Nice little town. She's now just outside of Stirling. I am in Bancroft since 1990. Wow just typing that makes me feel old. Do pop in to my store if you're ever up this way. Good job on day 2 and all the best for more!

                          Attention all CANUCKS !!

Stirly Girly, great of you to stir things up... Us Canadians tend to be so self-depreciating that we even neglect our own MWO thread... don't want to appear to boastful... won't post on that Canadian thread; it might give people the wrong impression... going to look at your photos from work tomorrow as here in Middle of Nowwhere, Quebec we don't have a strong internet connection.

Hi there Habs Fan, welcome back. Are you now cheering for the Canucks like the rest of Canada? Although I live in Quebec, it just occured to me as I am typing that I MAY be in Vancouver when they win the cup.. I leave for Toronto Friday to spend the weekend and then fly to Vancouver on Tuesday the 14th and stay on the west coast until Tuesday, 21st... So I just might be there for that momentous occasion. Have family out there.

Any how back to business, Habs Fan you have to be so proud of yourself for being alcohol free for one year... I am sitting here feeling so much respect for you since I have started my AF journey. I am on day 5 and post on a few great threads that have really helped me over the hump and are actually what's keeping me on the straight and narrow. I have only ever once made it past day 6 in the ten years I have been overdoing it. Had my first weekend AF in ten years too so feeling good.
Very enlightened by the fact that one damn glass of wine was the straw that broke the moose's back. One measly glass of wine? Wow that send shivers down my spine. Maybe I won't try to moderate after all. If you are interested in chatting on some June AF threads, there are a few here. Let's keep this Canadian Thread Going !!!

Ringing Cedars great to have you pop by.

Hey... I am Canadian too from Toronto. Don't hate me but I cannot stand hockey or curling, skiing or snowmobiles.

However ....we have some of the best authors in the world. Must be the long winters.

Sidney, I actually don't watch too much hockey. Only big games and only if i remember but if I am in Vancouver and they win, I think I'll be watching or sitting by myself if I don't...LOL. I agree with you about Canadian authors. I love the book section in the paper to catch all the latest hubbub about our gifted Canadians. Who are your favourites and what books do you recommend? Please let me know.

I was born and raised in the notorious Parkdale District of Toronto in the 60's and 70's when it was Eastern European and enriched with other ethnic influences. The food sold in the neighborhood was delicious. Then it got very dangerous and run down. It seems to have picked itself up again by what I've heard.

Welcome Sunshine gg. love the Lake Superior coast.; Oh Canada !!
