Surfing the net today and came across this former addict talking about his research into addiction. The bits I saw were pretty interesting and explained some physiological stuff about addiction that gave me a better understanding of it.
His website is The Institute for Addiction Study but it seems you have to pay for the DVD. If you want to find the clips on You Tube, search for Dr Kevin McCauley.
