Bugalugs - good job on Day 7!

Aspy, one of our blokes from Brisbane has been sober for over a year and only recently started going to AA - just as a bit of extra insurance. You might have a better experience this time around?

Raggsy - love the pics. That dragonfly is superb.

The gecko is brilliant - I think it's one of those that have a head-shaped tail so that when the predator chomps it they can go ner-de-ner-di-ner-ner, you missed me and just regrow the tail.

One was with a Canon SX10, The dragon fly was with a Canon EOS 5 with 28-135 mm lens but on manual focus, and ghecko was with Lumix point and shoot.

        Want to buy a camera?

Tawn, I think that is the one. I have a few around my place, but they manage to get inside sometimes. I have a photo I took a couple of weeks ago of coitusing dragonflies out the fron yard. I'll see if I can find it and post it.

Bugalugs.... you seem to be doing very well.

Reggie if you get Cruising Helmsman at all, in the Jan issue on page 8 is areally nice 8 metre Ross TS A mere $79,000 !!
There's also the Jarkan built in Nowra or somewhere nearby. But out of my price range. So I just buy CH and look at the piccies and the prices and sigh wistfully.....

We orta form a syndicate... you Mr G and me. Did you get to the trailer boat show in Docklands?

And still no rain for my poor dying plants.

              HA!
When we were in Perth in 1997 I went to a used car yard as they had an OKA for sale.
I asked the salesman if he took tradeins.
              Salesman said Yes, of course.

I said how much for my husband.

Salesman thought I was joking. So did Mr Rags.

Needless to say I don't have an OKA but I still have Mr Rags! :H

No, I need to tidy up the Cole a bit. Will sell it after winter. We left it to late this summer to sell.

Got to go. Will catch you tomorrow..

              Take care everyone, be safe.

Day 7 today. It's been a hard week, but I am still feeling positive.
Just took the dog for a walk along the beach, before I knew it, I had walked double the distance I usually do. This must be a good sign that the body is a little stronger.
I'm currently trying to build up the courage to drag myself along to an AA meeting. I'm very reluctant due of some negative experiences in the past, however I want to give myself every chance of success this time round.
Hope everyone has a great weekend.
                Morning all!

G'day Bugalug's. Welcome, and great to have you here.
There is an AA weekly thread on this site in 'monthly abstinence' section i think, which i suspect would make interesting reading for you. Jump in there and ask question's if you wish. I say get along and have a look. I've only been to 3 meeting's, and i'm not a regular, but i found the meetings very useful, interesting, and real. You will be made very welcome, and you don't have to speak if you don't want to, or are too nervous etc. I think AA meeting's are a great experience, and if AA work's for someone, they should use it, and go for it. Take what you need from AA, and use it. Use every bloody tool/technique/strategy that you can think of. We are all different, and have to find what work's for us, whether it be AA, here, 'Rational recovery', meditation, medication, excersise, head transplant, or a combination of these and/or more. Do whatever it takes, and find what works for you. Best wishes on your journey friend, and congratulations on day 8! Go for 30 day's.

I am so glad the rain's missed you Tawny. The way it's been puoring down here, i thought you'd be cactused!

Missy, the pre-employment course runs 8 weeks, with 1 follow up 'booster' session a month later. Regard's to follow up/support, well, there would only be that where folk's are with an employment agency (e.g. W.C.I.G. - disability job agency here), and /or have a mental health worker or case manager as regular support. I'm not %100 sure, but i think most of the folk doing the course have these links, but i will def find out to see what i can do to ensure as much ongoing support, if wanted, is there.

                A maaaarvellous day to all.

                      Morning.
                      Hope we're all tickettyboo.
You sound as if you're going along well there Bugalugs.
There might be some relief from the heat today. Might venture out there and see what's left of my garden.

                      Hope you're feeling better Missy.

Amazing photographs Raggsy. Love the dragonfly.
If your 8 year old self met you, would they be proud?

                        G
I did go to the AA meeting, however I now see the meetings as just another tool in the toolbox for occasional use only.
As you say "Use every bloody tool/technique/strategy that you can think of"
This time round I'm on Campral, Supplements, L-Glutimine, exercise, reading books, meditating, eating well, ordered MWO hypno CD's and of course this great forum.
I had been taking diazepam over the last week but tapered off to zero last night and slept reasonably well.
Feeling good with 1 week under my belt.
Better go to the beach now before the dog explodes!
