I'll mount my broomstick and head down in a couple of days (had to anyway as it happens), but seems I'll be of best use around follow up appointment time.

There's yer answer i reckon Reg! Get the big plasma screen, and watch Inspector Rex. You've got your quality pooch copper, and it all segues into the Collingwood children's farm visit nicely. It's yer outdoor's activities tying in with yer indoor techno. Yer yin and yang, if you will. There's ya parenting 101 right there. What would i know?

        Bluebird
        Charles Bukowski

there's a bluebird in my heart that
        wants to get out
but I'm too tough for him,
I say, stay in there, I'm not going
        to let anybody see
        you.

there's a bluebird in my heart that
        wants to get out
but I pur whiskey on him and inhale
        cigarette smoke
and the whores and the bartenders
        and the grocery clerks
        never know that
        he's
        in there.

there's a bluebird in my heart that
        wants to get out
but I'm too tough for him,
        I say,
stay down, do you want to mess
        me up?
you want to screw up the
        works?
you want to blow my book sales in
        Europe?

there's a bluebird in my heart that
        wants to get out
but I'm too clever, I only let him out
        at night sometimes
        when everybody's asleep.
        I say, I know that you're there,
        so don't be
        sad.
        then I put him back,
        but he's singing a little
in there, I haven't quite let him
        die
        and we sleep together like
        that
        with our
        secret pact
        and it's nice enough to
        make a man
        weep, but I don't
        weep, do
        you?

I hate bukowskis misogny but it is a great poem

Lovely stuff Chuck, and thank's for sharing Reg. I also understand and relate to these word's, especially the affecting his book sales in Europe line. I felt the same way about giving up alcohol. Would i lose the touch, the magic of making music (real, or percieved to be by me), the raw, passionate, alcohol drenched, whisky soaked stories from the gutter and my heart? AND........I've since discovered eventually, (and it took me many months of AL free living to go anywhere near my song's and stories/passion/reality....too much of a trigger) that our truth is always there, often buried deep beneath an AL haze, and an anxiety filled present. Remove the booze, and eventually, slowly, we blossom, and reality loses it's fear, and becomes exciting. I had an absolute ball performing at a gig last night. I felt free, it was real, i was in the moment as best i could be for a selfconcious cave dweller, i stuck around till stumps chatting away with various folk, and noted how chilled and relaxed i was. A bit of a first really, and sometimes i would even allow my hands to be free of the lemon squash with a mischevious dash of lime, for minutes at a time.

So, i am here to tell you, an alcohol free life is absolutely possible, and feckin great fun. You are free at last. Free from the chain's that we have allowed to bind us for far too long. It is real, wild, exciting, a bit scary, but win, win. You win 24/7. There are no negatives in being sober. Keep going, and keep up the great, gutsy work, wherever you are on your journey. Just hold on, and do your best.

        (Thank's for your lovely compliment's Mish. :h)

I've been dealing with an MWO billing debacle for the past four hours without resolution. Why do they make it so difficult to move, add, or change billing method. The credit card they've been billing for me had fraudulent activity two months ago. Citibank canceled that card and reissued a new account number. So MWO has canceled techie and I have no way of updating the billing on-line. Needless to say I'm pissed, or as you folks would say I'm quoit. Nite!

              P.S.

Mish, I very sorry to hear about your poor Mum's predicament. It's such a worry for the whole family, and of course the not knowing for the poor soul themselves.

I took a photo of mine too, but MWO bandwidth doesn't accept white empty spaces.
So I uploaded it onto KTAB's Facebook page instead.
