Not daylight yet and all I can hear are frogs and some beautiful magpies have just begun to warble. It's my favourite time of day.

Tawny, I see magpies every morning on my walk with Freddie. Noisy little buggers they are but so beautiful. They sit high up on the trees or buildings so they can get a good view of their prey and then swoop down. The electric blue colour of the feathers on their back is amazing. I just have to share this with you. No doubt you've read that Oney has her birthday this weekend and that quite a few of the "Army" are in Dublin to celebrate with her. Just a few minutes ago I got of the phone after talking to Oney, Starty, Jackie, Mollyka and Chill. What a treat. It was so much fun to talk to them. Molly really made me laugh when she said - "You've got a Canadian accent". And I said, "Yes, but you've got an Irish one."

Happy - relax. It was actually 5.15 down here. For some reason you banana benders don't seem to do daylight saving like us southern folk.

Orf to Farmers Market to (hopefully) buy a lemon tree and a plethora of tasty comestibles.

I woke up at 2am and read last nights posts. Put a big smile on my dial

I was going to go into work today to catch up on all the things that didn't get done last week, but I am going to go and get bulbs instead and then put them in the fridge

Stirly - so jealous of you getting to met the Army chicks! And so jealous that they all get to hang out together and flood out hotel rooms and set off fire alarms! :H

Suggestion to all Undies: Your lovely Julia has said that the best way that Aussies can support NZers at this time is to come on holiday here and boost our economy. So I reckon you should all come over - I have triple bunks (2 down, 1 up), a futon (double), space in the living area for at least 5 (squished in close), and a 2-person tent that we can put on the soccer ground next door. First in, first served. :H:H:H

No no no Missy - that defeats the purpose. We can come and play with you but mustn't stay with you. We need to book individual rooms, preferably entire suites and dine out at every meal.

Have fun bulb buying. Here's what I did after my lovely little whippet doggie got run over and I couldn't bear to look at his empty bed. I really like the purple/red combo.



The market was a success. One double grafted Lisbon/Eureka lemon tree planted and watered in. Tick. Two yukkas to go in pots. A jar of kasundi, fresh peanut butter, a hot pepperoni and assorted fruit and veggies to be consumed at leisure.

Hera ya go, Bridgeee

Kasundi is a Traditional Hot Indian Tomato Relish. Traditionally this is served as a Sambal with a curry meal. It however is also used in much the same manner as Indian Tomato Pickle and Chilli Coriander Jam, try it as a sauce on any meat, chicken, seafood, use as a marinate or as a condiment, very versatile. And very yum.

Sounds like everyone is having a good day.

Son and I are tidying his playroom / lounge which was trashed by visitors in the school hols. He's rebuilding the lego whilst I'm dusting / hoovering etc etc. We also listening to teeny music - Katy Perry, Glee and having a good sing as we go along.

Getting hungry now so I am going to whip up some bacon sarnies with white bread and real butter.

TF - Love the tulips.

glad to see I'm not the only one with an absolute refusal to eat margarine instead of butter :H Yum - bacon sarnies!! Mr B has been starting a new tradiition of fresh made pike lets on Sunday mornings. He does them very well and it is a lovely accompaniment to the Sunday papers!

Glad the market was good Tawny. I now have ranunculus, irises, freesias and hyacinths crowding out the broccoli and lettuce in the veggie crisper I shall plant tham at Easter.
