The Journey begins here...So Get your ass in gear for February

Grate, it's those little milestones that make everything worth it, is it?? What a wonderful thing for you both to experience. BUT, you know in a month you won't be fast enough to catch the little booger, don't you??
Birdy, spring is coming. A renewal for us all. I won't (as my Grandmother said) 'wish my life away', but when the flowers start to bloom, it DOES life my spirits, and give me a whole new surge of energy. Have fun this weekend.

Me again. OK, girls, give me some suggestions. Hubs leaves every morning at 5:30, comes home around 5:30 PM. During the day, he calls a couple of times for about 2 minutes, between meetings. He's in bed at 8, 8:30, so about all he has time for is to rattle off the things he has on his mind that I need to do, business wise. When he gets a day off, his parents commandeer him, if they can, or the grands are here demanding his attention. SO, this is a bad set-up for when he's here full time when he retires (hopefully this time next year). Any ideas how to get my concerns through to him, without causing him a total overload? IMHO, he's lost sight of priorities, even though I know how important his job is. You guys give me a (lot of! :H) voice, helped keep me sane in my really crazy life. And I'm worried his adjustment is going to be really tough when we're thrown together every day after a lifetime of working 12 hours a day.
Anyway, thank you all, again, even that crazy old English woman!!

Morning Jammers! So glad to hear Trucker is back in his home and spirits are better. Thanks for being there for him Biz and Vicki. Trucker has a special place in my heart.
Grateful how wonderful to be there for the first steps of your granddaughter. I can just imagine the pure sense of joy she beamed out.
        Vicki nice sink!
Howdy Rubes, Birdy, My Little Pretty(Sun), IAD, Nora, Mama, Mr Fen and anyone I missed. Make a great day folks!

Hey, RC! How are things with YOU, my friend? I was digging out spices last night, and I always go through the ones you brought me first. Every time I smell them, I think of you, and our wonderful visit. Let's do it again, SOON!

Hey Rubes, I would love to do it again--ain't gonna happen soon though.
I didn't make the deadline but will be at the courthouse ready to file first thing Monday.
I have Molly the big ole black lab coming for the week while mom goes to Cuba-again! I'm jealous but happy to have Molly. I could write a book about what's going on in my life but no time. Oh and about hubs situation, I AM NOT QUALIFIED to answer.

Rubes, have hubs build a sweet little mother -in-law cabin ...and then make him live in it! He can visit your place for meals, or you can set him up with some frozen meals & a microwave.

Grateful, how exciting that you were there for Addy's first steps! It's so fun to see them growing.

Bird, make those chiiblains (kids, in fennelese) clean the house. Tell em you'll take them to Chuck E. Cheese or whatever (bring a sidearm). You're not feeling well, you shouldn't have to do it! :h

Fen, wonderful idea, except he already built one. My MIL and FIL live in it, and torture me daily. I have decided to forge ahead with my changes, do what I need to do, and escape to the cabin as long as I need to. Actually, he's as annoyed with them as I am, but they ARE his parents (God Bless him!), and are completely out of touch with how much it costs to live today. I've decided the only way to get his attention, make him listen, is to be away a few days, after which he'll come to join me. Then, sit on his chest with a .44 till he listens, (AND AGREES) with everything I'm telling him!!
I'm sorry if this sounds so minor to those of you who are suffering such big life issues. But I've been where you are, and we have to solve each problem the same way, no matter what it seems like we have. Years ago (and I know I've said it before!) I heard 'You spend what you make.' As time passes, it seems to become more true. Dolly Parton, on bursting out of a dress she'd been sewn into for an award show, once quipped 'It costs a lot to look this cheap.' There is some truth in all of that.

Rubes, have him move back in with his folks! They live right next to you? Uffda, that's a little too close for comfort.

They would love it, he would hate it, and I would get the fallout Fen. Better to just escape to my sanctuary!

I know! He can stay in the garage! Or, if you don't have one, he can stay in the shed where you keep the lawn mower. I really want to make this "work" for you, Rubes!

Fen, we have a dozen outbuildings. He builds one every time he buys something. No, the cabin is my best bet. We've been together a lifetime. He works better when he has to come to me.
