Ruby......your trip sounds so much like mine in the past with my little kids.....so many years ago. So wonderful you have your family and you are there for your daughter!
Rough day and night for me. Talked for a few minutes today with my Mother.....wow.....she is 79 and I'm nearly 61.....still a chance it seems to connect late in life. We now can say we love each other and understand. I always wanted her love and almost believe I may have it.........hey I am failing at a marriage , but at least she understands I have given my all. She understands! Isn't that what, in the end, we all want? Just understanding. I do.
If anyone wants to chat tonight.......I'm here for awhile.
Rain here.......cold but no snow! Best to all of you going through this record breaking winter. Spring will be so welcome, again this year. I'm thankful for the seasons!

Morning All-glad you had your party(albeit virtual)Sunni. Sorry I missed it! Hope you're all warm and safe who have been hit by this massive storm. We're about to get it today. 3 area school boards have completely shut down--usually just the buses stop but schools stay open. Worst in 3 years but we're also generally equipped for these. The ice storms south look disastrous. Very sorry to hear Australia is being hit yet again.
I have been praying for all. Might just be staying home myself today. It will allow me to focus on a new business plan. Wish me luck! Glad you are with your family safe and sound(somewhat sound hehe) Ruby. Will check in later.... xo

Definitely staying home today. Can't even see the highway from here. It's maybe 5-600ft. Probably 3 inches in 2 hours now. Sunni, Grateful Fen especially thinking of you gals. Thor's likely being hit hard too. Wonder how Dance is making out in Texas too. No drinking here for sure(if I had had it in the house--no guarantees) maybe no smokes too:upset:

Good Morning everyone! Gosh lots of you here before me - when Furry alarm clock started, I kept stroking his nose and he eventually went away and laid back down!! We all went back to sleep. But finally he came back and wouldn't give up - but seeing as it was way past when I usually get up, I got up and have fed them etc etc.

Thank you so much Bird, Jan, Grateful for your calls yesterday! As I said, it was such a strange day! But with the help of my friends here I bounced back very quickly! Thank you all. It ended being fun and yes RC, you did miss the party - there might be some cake left - Vicki brought in a second one seeing as someone (who shall remain nameless but usually tidies up for us) ate more than her fair share! LOL It was nice to see Swannie here last night too.

Good Morning to you Mylife - nice to see you here this morning - hope all is going well for you - you too Hill. Laughed at your picture Panno - Hump day loses it's meaning when one works in retail though! Rog - I laughed at you having to train another finger to type - poor you! Laughing WITH you not at you!

Fennel - hope that you don't lose power - do you have food and everything? I was fine. Plan on getting in to work today - although we are having a late opening at 11.00. Did you just get snow? I walked outside this morning expecting to sink into it - and stayed on top! Guess it is the stuff underneath - I sank about an inch into it - and forget about shoveling it. Blow that for a game of soldiers. RC - do you have food and stuff and wood to keep warm?? Hope so - although the cigs - oh dear - you needed to have planned better!! Saving - nice to see you - and yes understanding is all we want - my mother and I went through all that about 15 years ago and sorted stuff out and it is great now.

Hey guys. Hope you forgive that I don't name everyone, but I have read. WOW! I DO remember doing all this stuff every morning, but ages ago.
First, AB SNUCK downstairs to sleep with me. Took her 20 minutes to stop her spin cycle and fall asleep. SIL woke me at 5 AM (ouch), said he'd call me back at 6 since I really didn't have to get up yet, but AB was awake. When I tried to doze again, she shook me, said, "You can't fool me. I know every trick in the book."
We got up (finally) and I let her start breakfast, with a little guidance. Then told her if she'd go wake the boys, I'd get everything heated and while they dressed, she cook make the eggs, and I'll watch them both. Well, she DRESSED them! WWIII insued, so, I got them all arranged. But she did a good job. The boys came down, did socks, AB made eggs as I watched it all, buttered toast, jelly, and they ate everything we cooked. Hair, teeth (took away TV and electronic games) and out to the car on time. Managed all the buttons, had everything ready with doors, gates, started the car -- NO GAS. If my daughter hadn't been going in to surgery, she would have needed it, if I could get my hands on her!! :H They live miles from stations, plus I don't know this rural area, and 3 kids in the back are saying 'Hurry, Mimi!' The only thing that got that van those 10 miles was me praying. Kids out at school, I trapped some poor man coming out to tell me where the closest station was, (5 MORE miles). COLDEST, WINDIEST SPOT ON EARTH, as I made 3 trips in the store to get the pumps to work. And I wonder why I don't get out more!'
After the circus of my morning, at least the news is good: Daughter is out of surgery, a little more than expected but it went great, and she's recovering. Thank you all for your wonderful prayers, thoughts, messages. They have been with me through the morning. I adore you all.
