    sugar and alcohol ?

    Hi friends,

I am curious to know that if sweets help to reduce alcohol craving while going to cold Turkey?
Does sweets grow fats when not taking AL or just substitute the level of sugar ?Your valuable advices are always welcome.
I am again 5 days with the inspiration of all of you.

    sugar and alcohol ?

Dixon, congrats on Day 5. I personally don't recommend sugar as a replacement for AL. It can become just another addiction. Have you had a chance to download the My Way Out book? Taking the recommended supplements and following the diet and exercise recommendations really helped me get started on sobriety. IMO, sugar is a slippery slope.

      sugar and alcohol ?

Lots of thoughts on this. Just spoke to a long time member today, and she mentioned how her cravings for AL had been this week since she cut out sugar. I wouldn't SUBSTITUTE it, but also wouldn't cut it out right now. Just MHO!

        sugar and alcohol ?

        Hi Doggy and Rubby,
Indeed, I have downloaded the Mwo book and reading out it as well alongwith couple of other books.I am trying to make a hubby in reading.
My curiosity is that I don't like sweets and never consumed a lot. sugar related foods and drinks. It might be a cause that the required sugar has been received from alcohol.
I know we need sugar balance to stabilize the mood and other body function. I thought that if I try to give up alcohol I must be flexible in consuming sugar related items like icecreams, frequent tea drinking, juice. ..to be honest I did not drink juice and sweet fruits as well so I would like to intake them if they are helpful to reducing craving.
I readout in many threads that craving comes cause of low sugar?
I am thinking for food suppliment recommended by our forum at the time would like to know correlation of sugar level and alcohol so that I can check up my sugar level time to time.
        Many thanks for your views.

                    sugar and alcohol ?

Sweets cut the craving for me but give me sort of a hangover if I eat too much. Trying to stop sugar now though and the cravings are back. Eating alot of fruit though to get my sugar and no hangover with that..

                      sugar and alcohol ?

I'm on a high protein diet and the cravings for AL have gone. I eat protein snacks and protein based meals throughout the day.

But I don't have a sweet tooth so I don't eat sweets or choccies. For me, keeping full and hydrated has been they key, so far.
