    Trainwreck..............

Well after a spectacularly bad start to 2011 where I fell off the wagon while visiting my father in scotland, then got very drunk on a train back home to manchester and managed in Edinburgh to leave all 3 of my bags on the train i had got off.
I then went on a 7 day bender which began on the sunday and ended the following saturday. I ignored my phone neglected to attend any appointments and would not answer my door. Fortunately I have very supportive friends and family and have undergone a home detox with librium and am in my second week of Antabuse.
2 of my bags have turned up, Which is great as one them contained a new suit for an interview. I have attended a 'smart' recovery meeting which seems to work for me and I have killed 2 birds with one stone as have stopped smoking also. I think this is going to turn out to be a good year for me folks, and hope it is for all you guys also

Good for you Andy! Sounds like the trainwreck is working in your favor! Love your positive attitude. Sounds like you've got all your ducks in line to stay sober.

    Good luck to you!

Sometimes it has to get really bad before it can get better. You are doing great, keep up the successful sobriety. Your courage and strength to overcome this are apparent in your post. We are here to support you.
