    Army Thread 5th February

    Good morning, Army

Mrs A: so sorry to hear that your rib is broken :l We'll have to brainstorm some ideas to keep you occupied... :l

I'm busy decising what will be on the agenda today. For some strange reason I don't feel like just vegging and loafing around. I have a backlog of contact information on the neighbourhood residents to capture, and want to send out a little status email later in the day, but that won't take too long.

First off: the garden needs watering, since the thunderstorm earlier in the week didn't quite do the job I was hoping for. Everything is becoming parched again. Roll on April, when the 1st rains should be arriving. Mind you, they're predicting extensive flooding this winter. Let's hope the disaster management teams have their plans in place.

In other news: I've decided to visit my family up north for a long weekend form the 18 - 20 Feb. Mmmmmmmmm.... for some reason, I'm in two minds about it. I thought I had put a lot of the old negative feelings to bed over the past year and longer, but there are some things lurking still... Ah well, at least it will mean I can spare my brother my SIL's cooking for a day or two :H She doesn't mind me taking over her kitchen, as long as I keep it clean and neat (she's has a touch of OCD when it comes to arranging the pantry cupboard, crockery and the like).

Enough rambling for now, I guess. I dunno how much more I can talk about myself right now :H That Undie concept of "it is really all about me" must have rubbed off!

Phew... I've done so much talking that I'm thirsty. A second cup of coffee before a spot of dogging will go down well.
    I'll do whatever it takes

    Morning Tiggaroo!
    You sound very focussed today?
Can totally understand your conflicting emotions about visiting family tho.....

I had a bit of a meltdown last night, it was 4 months to the day of mum dying, for the most part I am ok, sometimes it just all comes out tho which I suppose is a good thing as it does make me feel more normal....anyway, feeling lighter today and off to complain to the optician about my new contact lenses

Anon, I am so sorry about your ribs, I understand that is soo painful and also takes a long time to heal??

That kind of thing is to be expected, Starty :l

The eldest cub is loving his. I'm not so sure: I still have to put them in for him every morning... I only wear my contacts over weekends. Fecking astigmatism makes it impossible for work.

Well, I am still toying with the idea of doing drug and alc counselling.
The most pleasure I get is from dealing with people just like you and me but have hit a rough spot rather than people with learning disabilities....I find that less rewarding and more frustrating somehow.

You'd be brilliant at it, Starts. There's nothing like 1st hand experience to bring out empathy.

I am working with a woman to give up smoking at the mo. She has severe depression and is an alcoholic. But I am loving working with her, we talk about her drinking, but havent made that an issue in any way....she will deal with it when she is ready.

I reckon that process will have a knock-on effect on the other issues - as we've seen in ourselves.

Alrighty, Starty: Jasmine is giving me the eye - better go dogging!
