My first experience with a big ferry boat was crossing from England to France back in 1973. I was seasick before the damn boat was even untied. I don't mind so much traveling by boat although I'm not crazy about long distances - again, feel the tremendous need to get off it. I can't stand feeling confined. The tunnel would bother me because of its length. I would freak out being in it for so long.

Do you think that hypnosis can cure claustrophobia? I've never thought about it. A little leary of being hypnotized too...

What a blooming good idea. My SIL suddenly lost the plot with flying and she has to fly a lot for business so she did a 2 day fear of flying course and has never looked back.
I'm not afraid of flying Jackie - I panic when I'm confined and can't get out. Even on a jumbo 747 which is huge and you can walk up and down the aisles forever. Haven't the slightest fear of being in the air or of the plane crashing. I can't get off it. So I'm trapped. That's what gets me.

Shite!!! I almost locked myself out of my room just now.

I decided to get room service tonight instead of going down for dinner (the curry last night was great, by the way). I just wanted to put the tray outside, and forgot that the door has one of those hinge-thingies to make sure that it closes behind you... I managed to stick my big toe in the gap just in time.

Bloody good for room service - rack of lamb with gratinated potatoes & veggies, plus a greek salad.
      I'll do whatever it takes

Fear of ferries (sounds like me latest book).

It came on about 12 years ago after coming back from France in a force 8 gale and I vowed never again. Then I thought I'd give it another go 6 years ago going to and from Belgium I just wasted the whole time fretting about getting home and ruined the weekend.

So it's the lesser of two evils flying.
It could be worse, I could be filing.

It's a "hybrid" greek salad, I guess - greens (with a bit of rocket), tomato, bit of onion, lovely soft rich feta, calamata olives, grilled aubergine and a bit of avo, with a EVOO & balsamic dressing.

AND they'll think you've got hot chicks in there with you dancing and jumping around in hot little leather outfits. You'll leave there with quite the reputation Mr. Tiptronic...

Tomato, cuke, green pepper, onion, olives, feta with EVOO and vinegar and a light dusting of oregano. THAT is a classic Greek salad. What you had sounds mighty tasty tho'. I love the grilled aubergine. Don't know what rocket is...

                                Yo Mrs A.

Just had a very angry daughter on the phone. They're thinking about closing the child heart ops at the hospital where she had her hole in the heart done. Methinks a campaign is called for.

BBC News - Hospitals to be told to 'stop child heart surgery'

BTW the title looks as if they're going to stop all childrens ops. they're not.
