Did ya see Reggie's wonderful post over on the on the Undies thread? Great stuff. And he didn't even delete it (not that Froglet gave him a chance).
I am happy to report that the pecan tree I planted 5 years ago is finally bearing fruit (are nuts fruit?). I hope the resident squirrels will leave a few on the tree for us...
In other news, I think we're getting the student house situation under better control. After contacting the two sets of parents, we have had peace and quiet for two weeks. There was some socialising going on last night, but it was at a reasonable level and ended at 10.30 p.m. It helps that we're having local governemnt elections coming up in May. Our local councillor is very vocal at the moment
Mrs. T is feeling a bit better, so we're hopeful that she's on the mend. I am considering confiscating her Blackberry and password-protecting our ADSL connection. She was supposed to rest this past week, but was seen surreptitiously logging on for work purposes.
Looks like a peaceful weekend will be had. The only plan so far is to take the eldest cub for a follow-up visit to the optometrist to see if his contact lenses are OK. Then to get a delicious choccie cake for Piper's daughter (who shares a birthday with Oney) and deliver it to her residence as a little surprise. I might have to buy TWO choccie cakes... I'll be salivating and slobbering if I only get one. We'll probably invite my niece, who also started uni this year, over for a BBQ on Sunday. I'll just check the weather forecast to see if it's going to be hot or hellishly hot on the day.
I guess the barracks will be pretty much deserted this weekend, what with most of you Northern folks at the meetup in Dublin. I hope you'll have an absolute blast!
