Next day we make our way past the NY City Library ...........






to meet.... TECHIE!!!!!

He took us on a quick tour of Grand Central Station....... it is huge and has a great food hall almost the same size as the one in DJ's Sydney, with lots of scrummy things. It was very crowded so I didn't try for a photo.







This used to be one of the waiting rooms!!!!!





Techie took us to a wonderful restaurant at the station.
Now, who wants the low down on Techie? Just ask away.... You already know he's 4'9" , and I established he's a "C". So, anything else??


On our way back from lunch we nipped into the map room of the library.... the ceilings took my interest.









There were maps dating back hundreds of years. Didn't have time to snoop around other sections

Next we went to the Lincoln Centre to pick up our tickets for the evenong's performance. The risers in the steps have moving signs in them telling you what performances are on where.

The foyer lighting however, looked like giant sparklers.....




Friday was a lateish start and a bus tour round NY. I think you'll recognise this bulding ....




Which, we had tickets to go up to the observation deck but we were first directed to view a (dumb) aerial view of NY whilst seated on a moving platform. This caused us to run late for the Food on Foot Tour which started at Penn Station, so we didn't get to the top of the Empire State Building, but instead hurried with our friends from Mass. to catch the food tour. It was interesting.

Talking os food, Mr Rags and I though part of the NY experience would be to try a pretzel from a street vendor.




It is something we will never ever have to do again in our lives.....


That evening we went for a bit of a walk to near the Metropolitan Art Museum......



Hah! the shop was still open so I bought a couple of things for Chrissy presents.

Oh Rags I love the pics. I just got in the door. Back from Riverdance at the Stamford Arts Center in Connecticut. The show was wonderful. My date was a former dancer, but turned out to be a PITA. Next time I'll take Froglet, Bridget, or Saph. I know your taken. Love John xxx

I am having a hard time at the moment my brother is in hospital with water on the brain but I think he might be ok but living this far away i really dont know and the my hubbies nan is in hospital and i really dont think she will be comminig out so on the whole it is not good at the moment and of course i am using the grog as an excuse which is not a good thing so please if any one can help i would be very gratefull xx

Ronnie - sorry to hear your news and sorry us east coast mob were all in bed at the time of your post. Are you in a position to go and see your brother? I can understand you hitting the grog a such a time but we all know it doesn't help one little bit. Stay strong for your boys.
