Arvo peeps ... I'm back home.

Now Bridge - that bloke you captured on CCTV showering at my place last night ... there's no sign of him. Nor has a blade of grass been cut. A pile of limbs are still to be sawn into smaller logs. There's a bit of hedge that still needs clipping - so no. Wrong call.

I did however notice - a couple of paintings on my wall have been straightened. And I don't quite understand why I now have a serene ikebana display on my coffee table. Cushions on the couch have been plumped and there are perfect, symmetrical vacuum lines on the carpet. In the kitchen I found a most creatively arranged tray of seasonal fruits. I can only draw the conclusion that, sadly, whichever bloke busted into my house yesterday would ultimately be of no use to me whatsoever ... in the long run ... if you get my drift...

Concert was fanftastic - great to see the old blokes still cutting it AND the three original members can still wear skinny jeans! A very happy audience in the beautiful Palais Theatre were treated to blissful memories of stuff we were listening to forty years ago AND we remembered the lyrics! Seems such a pity I won't be around to celebrate Justin Bieber's 40th Anniversary. ***sob ***

Fanged my fool head off: A dozen Coffin Bay oysters followed by fantastic mussells in a chilli, garlic and chorizo sauce at The George hotel for lunch, some tasty comestibles after the gig at a Spanish Tapas place and this morning at 7:30 some fresh croissants from the bakery a few doors down from the hotel. Then on to Acland street for a small box of tasties to bring home ...100-year-old baked cheesecake (so the sign said) and at the best IGA I've ever seen I found some brilliant French cheeses and extra-strong horseradish. So ... for this little rural dweller, the buzz was that all this happened within walking distance. (Note to self: next time take your Blunnies for walking. Didn't take them because I thought I'd look rather stupid all frocked up with Blunnies on but hey - couldn't look any more stupid than the cyclist riding around St. Kilda with a terry towelling fishing hat dangling out from under his helmet)

I usually try to do two sleeps in Melb to totally justify the trip but I really wanted to be back home for the Super Moon we're expecting tonight. The last one was 18 (I think) years ago and I'm possibly running out of years for the next one. So, having found and set up the old tripod, I'm ready for a marvellous spectacle. Missy - if you could be my Forward Scout and advise me when it's starting to happen at your place, I'll be even happier with anticipation.

I had a lovely time and I'm extremely comfortable in my skin. Hope y'all are too.

PS - I walked the streets looking for MrG busking. Nothing.

Hokey-pokey .... moonrise here due at 6:51, but it wont be dark until about 8. But it is a lovely clear night, so I'll keep an eye out for you. I have people for tea (parmesan and herb crusted lamb rump, lemon couscous, steamed beans and zucchini, creamed spinach and a salad on the side. All vegies except the cucumber and beans out of the garden - the last of my crop!) who will be very interested too .... and thankfully it is still warm enough to sit out on the deck!

Underoos and International Guests, March 2011

Wow! Afternoon all Undies and International Guests. Can't believe how long it is since I've dropped in. So much going on, so busy.
Briefly, the back garden is as good as complete. Unfortunately, Mother's surgery didn't get all the cancer (which is 'aggressive'), and they're going to have another go at it on Tuesday. Last week I brought her over here to see what I've done in the garden and she was blown away...told me how 'proud' she was of me. Couldn't have accomplished this while drinking...so very grateful to know that I'm not a disappointment to her any more.

Visited my daughter, son in law and grandchildren on Thursday and yesterday. I'm so in love with them all.

Tawny, this is the way it is for my daughter and son in law. And for the children. They all just love one another so much. Ashe and Chris met at TAFE when she was about 15 and he was about 17. His Mum told me that he came home from TAFE that night and told her that he had just met the girl he was going to marry. How cool is that? They are absolutely brilliant parents and their kids are amazingly well behaved and genuinely sweet and loving. I'd love to think that some of her mothering qualities came from me before I hit the booze. I guess I must have done something right along the way to have turned out such an amazingly responsible, capable and switched on daughter. Just saying.

Ragsy, the pics of your trip are fab. Keep 'em coming. Techie's a bit of a sweetie, eh?
Bridge, haven't read back much, but did you get to follow up on the ADD PM?
            Tawny, keep the mystery going.
G-ster, your posts continue to inspire.
Missy, if you only knew how often I send hugs your way...
Saphy, you're such a sweet soul.
CW, busy, busy, busy, but it does get easier. Promise.
Happy, really enjoying to get to know you.
Reggie, you're too quiet for my liking at the moment. I'm missing your company.
Stirly, have you been able to chat with Beagle? I haven't heard from her lately.
Betty, Tigs, and dear Techie, as well as other international guests and lurkers, have a fabulous day.

Took me ten minutes to read back even though everyone seems quiet? Ok big sugar hit now necessary and totally under control by eldest locust creating creme brulee and a pav....how does 100 year old cheesecake smell TF? And is that the cheesecake or the recipe? More info please! Food in Melbourne and NZ sounds delectable. Working out what to do tonight as it has been peeing down since eleven and the restaurant i had intended to take my beloved to for a romantic meal - read cheap cudo deal - is fully booked.... Wont see a moon of any description tonight too cloudy!

                    Hiya Mish and Happy

Reggie - McDonald (sadly) hasn't been with them for years but Listen to the Music was the final encore and the whole joint went berserk. And yes, they did Black Water and Jesus is Just Alright By Me. What I find utterly interesting is that in their entire 40-year career, they only seem to have released 4 albums. It truly was a blast

Froglet mentioned something very profound: she is comfortable in her own skin. As for myself: it still occasionally gets sweaty and scratchy under the fur, but for the most part, I'm content with being me. I think that's a lot to be grateful for...

Where's that bloody moon? I've got one camera mounted on a tripod, another with a huuuuge tele lens at the ready, binoculars around my neck ... I wish David Attenborough was here. I like his voice.
