Have you read the Desert Flower series of books? It's about a Sudanese woman (Waris Deiree?) who goes from being a nomad in Sudan to a super model in London. But she used her fame to highlight the issue of female circumcision. I believe she has been (or maybe still is) a UN Ambassador dealing with this issue.

I love reading so any books you can recommend I will order from the library.

I have just read your Amazon link. The recommended book "I am Nujood, I am 10 and divorced" is a good read. An easy read as it's narrated by a 10 year old but very eye opening.

There's too many books to mention.....

CW I read this inspiring book whilst I was holed up in rehab for two weeks and feeling sorry for myself and my lot blah blah blah. It was one of many reality checks for me and helped me to kick myself up the proverbial bum, shake myself out and get off the damn grog. Have spent the seven months on a totally different course in life....(helping others much less fortunate than myself). I recommend it.

Morning wonderoos,

And a wonderous, fantastamajorical day it is here!!!!!! Perfect weather and a great one to get out into. I will start the day with a walk with Lucy, got two massages to do this arvo and then some moonlighting at the gym this eve. You know what guys, my life has turned full circle in seven short months. New job, a renewed appreciation for the old one, kids settled into uni, Rowan doing well, new puppy, steady income, bloody amazing really. From train wreck to born again (thats how it feels). Give up the poison and got a life......brilliant. Love you all here for helping me to find my way.

Working at half power (but boddee working at full power including armees and legees :H)

Mum through surgery with flying colours. Woke up and demanded pain relief on first breath, just as I instruct all my folk to do. There is a time to play heroine, and a time to ......well.....take it really :H (close enough)....

RAGGSY....it lives !!!!!

Thanks Sapph...all good now. What a turn around in seven months girl. I'm damn proud of you.
