      Aww Mr G .......... :l

Good Morning Undies, TF those flowers are just gorgeous!!!!

I was lurking as I have a lot of stuff going on but don't have much to contribute so I like to stay quiet!! but after reading this I just had to post!!!

We signed for a new (old needing lots of work) house today so it's kind of exciting but we still need to sell out current house!!!

Bridge my parents are like that too, and I must admit that I have been married 21 years and I'm still happy. It's not always easy though!!!!

I too envy people who are lucky enough to find their soul mate and life partner at an early age. I often think it must be sort of like having a twin.
My parents have been married almost 66 years. They grew up together in the fields of Kentucky and still call each other the pet names they had back then as kindergardeners.

When one of them dies, I expect the other to go very soon after.

Few in life have that kind of bond with another human being.

At 87, they still hold hands when walking.

My dad is almost blind and my mom is almost deaf. Dad and mom say that together they make one perfect person.

        I agree.

              This is our hosts doggy...
He is a very sweet doggy. Pity he didn't understand my accent. I would say "sit" or "wheee" and he would run to the back door to be let out......

Now, I knew cats were smarter than dogs. This pic has to prove me right. Would you ever see a cat sitting in the snow? But he had some good tricks and shook my hand when I gave him a doggy treat.
Cats don't have to do tricks to get fed.

Next day we drove to Boston and did a bit of a hop on hop off tour.

And here is where, over two hundred years ago some 61 tons of tea was thrown overboard from British ships, which is why we get to live in 'Stray Yah.

And here is the church in which the signal light were lit which was sort of the start of the American Revolution....

In the little park at the back of the church is a memorial made up of ID tags of soldiers killed in Afghanistan and Iraq.

Continuing past the soldiers memorial we went to the next street, turned right and a hundred metres down the road was.....

Paul Revere's house. With 2 cars illegally parked in front of it so I couldn't get a full piccy of it.

And Mr Rags thought this was a sort of amusing sign...

After lunch we wandered down a lane and came across...

The oldest pub in America. Didn't go in.

Last day with our hosts, and we visited Mark Twain's house. It is huge, cost a bomb, very very decorative brickwork with each chimney a different shape and design. And, no photos allowed inside.

Our hosts had bought tickets to a show at.......

And look who it is !! MR G !

When I shouted "Hiya Mr. G." he looked at me like .... "who are you" and kept playing.

Maybe it wasn't Mr. G. after all.

                    Rags - Love the piccies!

Bridge - My mum and dad were married for AGES too. My dad died in 2003 and my mum said she felt "cheated" as they had "only been married for 51 and a half years." Things were different when our parents got married. When my parents married, my mum gave up work. She told me that when they left for their honeymoon, she had no money. Can you imagine that happeneing today? It was the done thing then for the husband to support the wife.

Anyway, you may not have that relationship yet but look at what you've learned from your parents over the years.

How many beautiful, romantic stories we all have !

I feel better now. Hopeful. It does happen.

You know Rags, Mum and Dad came home from their honeymoon with 20 old Australian pounds in their pocket.

They retired in their 40's so that they could spend more time together, built businesses and real estate capital together, and have been self supporting throughout.

If they weren't such humble, ordinary people, you'd call them a power couple :H

I'm really enjoying this photographic journey.......what a gorgeous dog :h What breed is he ?
If your 8 year old self met you, would they be proud?

Good evening all Undies and International Acts ...

Another gorgeous day in garden land - harvested heaps of pears and apples and planted beetroot, spinach and Brussell sprout seeds.

I'm orf to the big smoke early in the morning for an overnighter - it's the Doobie Bros concert and I'm excited! Going with a bloke of the male variety and plan on eating my fool head off at any one of the many fine fangeries in St. Kilda. Coming back on Saturday because I really really want a clear view of the humungous moon we've been told to expect.

In other news ... the Chooks are 52 weeks old. Happy Birthday those girls.

                          Loving the pics, Raggsy.

MrG - Have fun with AuntyG, - she sounds excellent.

BB - great news about the new old house!!

So - what has the day brought to you? Anybody? Report in ...

                            Hello TF
Nothing exciting except getting on top of a truckload of work and missing what was probably a great feed girlie lunch time thingy but I wasnt that worried, too many plastics at it and not my real life buddies.

                            Happy birthday chookies.

Full reportage on food and concert required. Dont know you well enough yet for any other reportage.

                            Love your flowers.

Great pics Rags. Was Mark Twains house as great inside?

                              Evening Happy and TF,

Rags, love the photos of the teddies with the Moose Mountie :H and hope you are over the worst of your lurgy.

Aunty G sounds like a cracker!!! Hope you have a great time with her G!

TF - gosh, it seems like ages ago that you bought those Doobie tickets!! No wonder you are excited - the anticipation must havae been building up for some time!! Enjoy and hope you eat your head off in grand style!

Bridge - a thousand :l As Mr G would say, what a beyooodiful beewwyeeewwdiful sheila you are!

And hello to C-Duubya, Aspy, Fickle, Reg, Angel, Cindy, Betty, Tip Stirly and anyone else that happens to pop in overnight!!!

Had a funny thing happen today ..... you know those emails that you write intended for someone's (private) consumption that accidentally get sent to the wrong person???? Well, I was on the receiving end today - ie; someone wrote an email describing in detail the recommendations contained in a report that I have not yet written and ascribing a whole lot of opinions to me (including things that I am alleged to have said) and sent it to me by mistake!!!! I'm quite glad it has happened as I have been aware of her hostility to me for some time, but whenever I've tried to talk to her openly about it she has denied it. We have a meeting first thing tomorrow, so it will be interesting to see how that goes!!!!
Never give up, for that is just the place and time that the tide will turn
