Can anyone actually explain to me what a spam person gets? Like ... does he/she get a certain amount of money if we click on his/her link and if so - how much? I wonder if it's worth the bother.

Not sure about what a spammer gets.

It should be spammers because spamer would have a long a, whereas spammer has a short a.

What is Missy up to? Rename what? Too lazy to go back and look.

How is everyone's day going? It is 3:36 a.m. here, so I figure it is evening there. Woke up a bit early, didn't I?

When I was down there last week at the Whitestone Cheese Factory cafe, I had a cheese scone, which they heated up with butter and windsor blue. Mmmmmmm (I looked for a salivating emoticon, but couldn't find one :H:H)

But one of the nicest things was that the main table at the cafe was a bunch of women in their 70s and 80s, all wearing red hats. There were about 12 of them. If you know this poem you will appreciate what they were doing!!!!!

hi everyone.
i've been awol for a while, & have not been so polite as to read back but briefly, i gather lots of you good people have been dealing with some serious shit. hugs to you all.
me? mmm well wish i could lie & say i've been brill, but i won't.
gradually slipping back into some old habits which is not good. in bewteen being kind to myself & feeling frustrated with said self, the oscillation results in no stable "me" at all.
so i am returning to the fold, hopefully. much as you might all want to kick me up my cyber arse, please don't as the hearty well-meaning bracing "she'll be right chaps" just won't mesh with my overwhelming feeling of being rather null & void, much like the panel on the scratchy that you're not supposed to scratch.
you know what shits me most? is waking up every day feeling inspired to make changes, then the saboteur comes along by 4pm & changes my behaviour. why? is it that some deep part of me doesn't want to stop drinking? yep probably. what the hell can i do to make that fruit loop go away? when they say start by making baby steps then holy shit i'm obviously taking leaps then getting pegged 3 leaps back. very frustrating. for a while there i was going ok.
on another bad note ( oh yes aren't i a ray of sunshine today) sadly i've had to can the trip to Melb. the bank manager came yesty & we're going to have to start eating road kill, & someone else's at that. tighten belts, suck it up & hope to hell & back that we get some rain this year. sorry to be flippant to all of you that have suffered extremes in terms of rainfall but the opposite over here can be equally as despairing.

why? is it that some deep part of me doesn't want to stop drinking?

I, too, run into the same thing. Perhaps it is because a lifetime of drinking means if we give it up, what is there? The devil you know is better than the devil you don't?

I am sorry about the vacation, the tightening of belts, the lack of rain. (We are inundated, I would love to send some to you..)

Sometimes, life just sucks.

This, too, shall pass.

and one day you, me and others will find that the devil we don't know is much better than the devil we do.

Remember I bought the "other" Caroline Knapp book? It was so bad I decided to throw it away (this from someone who has a virtual library at home) and left it in the rubbish bin at my motel last week. This morning I came into work to find that the motel owner had very kindly posted it back to me :H:H

You know, being sober is just the best decision i ever made. It is SO cool feeling great every morning, and safe, and confident in the knowledge that i really do know and feel i can do ANYTHING. I had to have had enough of the madness, decide to stop it, get myself a little, simple, acheivable daily plan, and do it. Very do-able, and very, very noice. I especially note the help and support of this forum in my 'early day's' as being a pretty big contributor to this, my longest ever stretch of freedom. Sometimes i underestimate the power of this community, forum, and the expanse of info/wisdom on this site.

In other new's, Britney Spear's is doing a gig in 'frisco soon. She's been a bit nervous and anxious about it, and wanted me to attend, not as musical director, but just to be there side stage. Look, i had to be upfront with her. I just said.....'Brit, just do what you do. You know your craft, and you've rehearsed for this for months now. You've got a crack band, the late, great Tommy Tycho's nephew as M.D., Keith Urban on guitar, Margaret Fulton's handling the backstage platter, and Murph (Graham Murphy) on choreography. It's a winning formula. Just be yourself, put one foot in front of the other, and do your best.'
