IMHO, it comes from other's need to label, to justify themselves. One reason I DON'T post dates, anniversaries, etc. (which is FINE, if it works). This is MY WAY OUT!! Not OUR Way Out. I will NOT condone repetive bad behavior, a revolving door of the same complaints, and obvious posts of not REALLY making changes. But there is no part of me that has the right to bash, question, ridicule someone who is truly, desperately seeking help. Speaking only for myself, you who REALLY know me, I'll talk to you in private and chew you out, IF I think you need and can take it. Otherwise, it's a private, personal, journey.
Since this came up, there IS a lot of curiousity about my last drink, do I mod, am I AF, etc. Why? But here is my answer. I haven't had A drink in a long time, and I have been sober for years. I hope that is enough. If not, tough. I'm happy. I'm a different person. I'm living more of the life I dreamed of. And it IS enough for me.
I have a fear of posting a roadmap of my journey that someone else will think it will work for them. So, that's all I have to say on the subject here, elsewhere, no matter what. It will serve no purpose.
Sorry if I've said too much. RC and I have a great (I think) relationship, and we've shared a lot. She knows I love her, but won't pull punches when I see her drifting. Many of the others here too. I am no saint, but I'm happy, and I've lived some of what you have. :h to you all.
Now, pray, light a candle, for Japan. This could still get worse. (See Techie's thread)

OH MY GOSH. Three hours of weeding and heavy digging. I am going to SO feel it tomorrow - who am I kidding? I can feel it NOW. But I am so pleased with all that I did get done. And I found three spuds from last year when I was digging! I shall have a couple with dinner tonight - I am amazed that they are okay - one of them is just starting to sprout!! What a treasure to find.

I agree with you Jan and RC - about not feeling able to post the truth here as others jump in and start with the nasties. It didn't used to be like that - or I don't remember it being like that anyway. I still drink, although not a lot - I have cut down from what I drank when I first came here, but that wasn't a lot - just too regularly for my liking. But it is something I never talk about on here - I do mention it in PM's and e-mails sometimes but don't think I would on here. Which is a shame - as Ruby says - it is MY WAY OUT. And others have no place criticizing in a hurtful way. We all here know each other well enough that we know what the others can and cannot take but others don't. Anyway, just thought I would put my tuppence worth in.

Now, I think I might have a bath - I HATE baths! But think it would be better than a shower. The thing is, it is my neck and shoulders that are feeling it - so I will have to have me knees out - oh I don't care for baths at all!! Grumble mumble grumble. Well that is cool about the potatoes Sun. Been out in my garden today and have broc out and tomatoes peppers cuke and a couple other things i forgot...mb sounds like your dad is hanging tough, good for him.....Rubes funny about the suit..T I need a massage too. Been too long...gotta go to work tomorrow. I hate it but the extra money is nice. Working on a couple drum projects I got the shells cheap off ebay...later b

Hey, family. I feel better today. I've made up my mind NOT to focus on my pain. It only makes it worse. I'm just trying to IGNORE it! We went to Church, then I planted all my bulbs in one flowerbed and am now working on house, so it feels good to get some things done. Whoever made my pics smaller, THANK YOU! Grateful, I am so happy Josh got the job! When prayers go up, blessings come down! Nora, I'm praying for your Mom and hope she is doing better. RC, hope you're feeling better. Yes, the aches and pains that come with age really suck! Thank you for being so faithful to look after us and have our backs. It's been so nice lately, not to have any drama. I totally agreed with your posts! It is such a shame we don't feel free to say everything here in our own little family, because of those lurking around, trying to stir up trouble. Ruby, you are so hilarious! I had a good laugh over your freezer story. Why are you staying up till all hours of the night. I'm usually ready to go to bed at 9:00. Last night I couldn't sleep, cause I was worried about someone, so I went into chat and I had a really good time chatting with Ruby, Trucker and Willow. Where were you, Roger? Roger, you need a jaccuzzi, not another girlfriend! (more troubles) MB, that is such a sad story about Katie. How precious of her to make you a scarf. I'm NO spiritual leader. I just believe in the power of prayer. I've seen more miracles than I could count! I am so glad your Dad is keeping good spirits through all this. I continue to pray for him. Ruby, you scared me with your second post, but I am so thankful that you love us enough to tell us the truth when we need to hear it. I see someone "drifting" and I am so afraid for them, because I know how easy it is to get back on that train. We can never have just one drink, or I can't. I guess I should confront this person, but I am so afraid of hurting their feelings. Will you do it, Ruby? Please, please, please... LOL! I'll do it as lovingly as I can. OK, all, sitting down now to eat a bite ( did you see that Rog??:H). I've tried to keep up on laptop as I sandblast my fridge, something I havnt done in TOO long, the way I cook, and it's hard to say everything I'm thinking. I've determined to clear out, throw, give away what I don't need, put my house in order. THEN I can feel I can do my things.
My point I tried to make in what I posted about me was that I have found what works for me. That's why we're here, right?
I've still got miles to go with this monster tonight - wish I had someone to give the food to. But it is liberating to do an old, put-off chore well and thoroughly. But I have TWO MORE to do!!!

I am home from Sunday dinner and tucked in....ditto what everyone else said. I,too, still drink, sometimes to excess, but not half as much as I did a year ago. Really interested in AA since I am spiritual, and I have been reading the Big Book. It says not to blame others for your troubles and to completely give yourself over to a Higher Power...whomever that may be.

I've just read that a huge aftershock has created another tsunami (Reuters News Agency), and there has been a hydrogen explosion at the most endangered plant. Estimates of as many as 10,000 people killed in the first tsunami have also been released. The pouring of seawater into the plants is a last ditch effort to prevent a meltdown. There is no way to determine the catastrophic possibilities over the next few days.
Pray for these people. There but for the grace of God...............
