    Army Thread 1st March

    Yo Mrs A.

You've got a point there, Reccy.

Black Bess has been AF since 6th May 2006. Don't know what she got up to before then because we adopted her when she was 2.
It could be worse, I could be filing.

Hiya Mrs. A. Reccie is right: excellent piccie and achievement!

      Good morning, Wreckstar

Woohoo! I can't wait for you guys to go back to a more decent time difference. I have to go to bed by the time things just start warming up here.

It's still so hot here that I'm considering sleeping outside. We have a spare double mattress I can drag out of the yet-to-be-completed flatlet / mancave. We're still dipping in and out of the pool to try and cool off. The house is like an oven.
      I'll do whatever it takes

Evening tippers - it'll be good to have you around for an extra hour. I guess the clocks don't go forward in SA then.

Must be pretty tough in all that heat - it's hard to think about anything else when it gets like that.

        What's the new flatlet/mancave for

Ah Jackie - I couldn't wait for Spring to come and the puddles dry up and get outside skipping rope. Spring has always been my favourite season. New leaves on the trees, the birds returning from warmer climes and longer days and shorter nights. The smell of lilacs and freshly mowed grass. Love it. inkele:

          :HReccie, you're a funny bloke...

Just to let you kind people know, I talked to my Mom on Skype for almost an hour this afternoon. She was bright and beautiful in her lovely purple dressing gown (the colour preference runs in the family) and only just a bit sore with a couple of bruises. My sister was there as well (in a dark mauve dressing gown - it was early morning there) and she said she saw the wrecked van and wondered how they got out without serious injuries. The van flipped and then slid about 5 metres down this steep embankment. Seems they had a guardian angel watching over them. Thank you all again for your kind words last night.

I'd swap the cold for the heat anytime. I lived in Las Vegas for 3 years and loved every minute of it!

Mind you that was 10 years ago..might not be so keen now.

Recluse - I should have gone shopping later as well but needed dog food and milk for my coffee!

JC - I didn't thank you for my beanie hat! Love it, just packed it, it's well travelled already a bit like Tigger, Newcastle, Dublin, Glasgow and now Portugal! :H

We don't have daylight savings, Reccie. We're on African time in any event

The flatlet isn't new - it was here when we bought the house. It just hasn't been finished to the extent that it is really habitable. We've got a chest freezer, some bookcases and a shitload of shite in there at the moment. The idea is for me to use it to get away from the family sometimes - my own space. Problem is, the outside door and one window faces one of the fecking student properties. Although that situation is getting better, it's not nearly as peaceful as I would prefer it to be.

Thanks Jackie but I bet she's got a few dozen she's knit herself over the years. She's amazing - she can knit and watch TV without looking at the fecking needles.

Nope - no aircon. Wouldn't be able to afford the additional electricity in any case.

We use an anti-mozzie spray for when we're outside. Works like a charm.
