Well, things are never dull around here. I went to go out onto the balcony off our living room yesterday and when I stepped on the little mat in front of the door, it was all squishy - soaking wet - as was part of the Persian carpet I have right in front of the balcony doors. Frantically started moving a chair and plants that I have there and discovered that water was leaking from the rad pipe that comes up out of the floor. So running for towels to dry the carpet as best I could and mopping up the water, wrapping other towels around the pipe to keep the water from going onto the carpet again Can't take the carpet up by myself cause we've got this very heavy glass and marble coffee table on it. Ran upstairs to the plumber that lives in the building but he's making lunch for his family and can't come have a look for at least an hour. Anyway, I kept wringing out the towels and wrapping the pipes back up again til Mr. Stirly got home and the plumber finally came down and fixed the problem. However, there is still a bit of water leaking out today. Luckily it's leaking very slowly and is not a major problem. Looks like another visit from the plumber later today. And before Mr. Stirly got home I called younger son to see how he's doing and he was taking his girlfriend to the hospital. They think she's got this flu virus that's going around that over a hundred people have died from it. That is not good news and I am definitely worried about the girl. If she's got it, then younger son will defo get it and Mr. Stirly could get it as well since he works with younger son every day. He's had a flu shot in the fall but you never know. Keeping my fingers crossed that the poor girl has simply got a cold and fever. We won't know until the results of her blood test comes back.

Well, the leak can be fixed and I've put stuff under the carpet to hold it up and it's dried out quite a bit already. This flu virus has me worried tho' but we can't be sure until the tests are back.
Anyway, I talked to my Mom on Skype again yesterday and she's fine, just stiff and sore and has a few bruises when she could have been badly injured. So that puts everything into perspective.

Off to get the second load of clothes hung out. It's cloudy but not raininng and we've got a light breeze.
