Guys - just wanted to share my success with u tonight. I posted it on some other threads so apologies of u have already seen it.

I went on my first hen weekend. We did some activities during the day and then for lunch and then to see mamma Mia. I was feeling pretty down cuz everyone was drinking and I wasn't. I felt very left out. Not that anyone actually cared or pressured me to drink but because of the occasion. I was so frustrated that I nearly started crying. I had a chat with my husband on the phone about it and we discussed how far I had come. I am not far off ninety days and I knew if I had a drink I would have undone all of hard work. I just didnt want to go back to day one.

It is also incredible how u sometimes get a sign. After the interval I noticed how drunk the people were in front of me, particularly one woman who was there with her daughter. The steward had to go over a number of times and tell her to be quiet. Her young daughter was clearly agitated and not enjoying it and that made me sad. At the end, the woman had a huge fight with her friends and stormed off. I just thought to myself, I don't want that to be me. I felt better. I had chosen af and I was thankful.

The girls all went out clubbing and that would have meant huge temptation for me. They decided to go to a really crappy nightclub so the decision was made for me. I went home.

Just had to share.

I know what you mean about that woman. I must have been about 60 days AF when I saw a woman sing 'I will Survive' at a Karoke while flinging her wine glass around. I was so embarrassed for her. I thought that used to be me. Perhaps she was my sign.

Hey all,

Thanks! I do feel stronger. There was one point today where I was just so angry which is nuts. I am still the life and soul of the party! In fact, I am much more fun without a drink. So wehy do I put myself thru this mental torture. I guess it'll get easier with time.

Cassia, it does get better but I took a right strop in Belfast last year because the lovely little coffee place.(you know the kind,sit out side and pretend to be sophisticated ) we were in started serving wine and started turning up and drinking wine OUTSIDE beside me. I was heartily pissed off. I was in a right how dare they be normal mood.

The other I noticed is how much people go on about alcohol. All this one girl talked about was drink. It was kinda annoying. More to life and all that. But that's their choice and not mine so que sera sera.

I also have no sweet stuff.
