Hey Cymru, have you tried or considered trying baclofen? If not you definitely should. It has the hard-to-believe-but-true ability to make you indifferent to alcohol. This means, once it's doing its magic, you can live your life without the daily battle with temptation. It worked for me - stopped me drinking 2 bottles of red wine every night - within 10 days of starting it. Every alcoholic should give it a go, if "white knuckling" doesn't work (and it sure as hell didn't work for me.)

      Good luck!

Cindi has such great advice. I hope you've been able to get some relief. Don't just do this for your beautiful little girl, do it for YOU. You know you want to be well, be the man you can be. And you have SO much potential, Geth. I'll be with you through this, if you'll allow me. Please take care of your sweet self.

Thanks again for all your advice and messages of support.
Surprisingly I feel alot better tdy. Slept for a good 12 hrs last night(thanks in part to some mild sleeping pills) and have eaten well tdy.
Am going to see my doctor tmr( or get an appointment), visit citizens advice for some help, and try to start to sort the mess out I've got myself into, rather than pushing it all to one side again and again.
A friend here mentioned Brynwell rehab, and I wondered if anyone knew anything about them?
I unfortunately have no net access at home at the mo, but will hopefully get some credit next week.
Am also going back to AA, as that always helped.

He definitely does Ruby, Im the friend mentioned above. While I havent exactly been a shining example of sobriety to Cy as I tend to slip now and then , I have been back at AA since a big binge (A litre of Bacardi and 10 bottles of wine in 4 days) I had at New Year, he talked me out of it and I went back. He's been there for me in the past so Im there for him now. If I am honest, seeing what he has been through the last few days has made my resolve stronger to work harder at AA as it reminded me of my own pretty awful binge! (I missed my meeting last night but had a mini one with Cy instead as he needed food!) ... Thanks for all your supportive words to him. Dont really know why I didnt stick around this forum... oh I know.. I was busy back drinking! Hope to get to know some of you a bit better xxx

What a difference a week makes.
I have been sober for a week now( for the first time in months) and am feeling alot more clear headed and positive about life and what the future will bring.
I am looking at the selling of my house etc as a positive thing. Wiping the slate clean. I can move forward from this and start afresh and make a better life for myself. With the weight of debt off my shoulders I can rid myself of the last 5 yrs and start building again.
I have a good cv and should be able to find work fairly easily.
I am riding the 'pink cloud' at the moment, and know from past experience that this feeling of euphoria will pass. It's about getting a long term plan of action in place, and keeping away from old temptations.
At the mo I have no urge atall to drink, but I know that there will be a time when that temptation will come. It's knowing how to deal with it that's important to me now.
I'm seeing my doc on thurs and will talk to him about outside help to help me through my early and long term stages of sobriety.
So that's where this Welshman is right now!
Thanks again to everyone here and on fb for there kind words of support.
                            My love to all

Oh hunni.. i'm soooo sorry *hugs* Rehab is a good idea as long as you're willing to help yourself as well. After you've got sober you'll be able to get your life back, get a job, get a home ect ect.. Try to look forward to a new life and not think about the past as it'll just cause you to drink more in sorrow.
be strong babe, we're all here for you.
Have you had your body looked over to make sure you haven't broken or fractured anything?
