    Yo Stirls,

    They're so pretty those pictures.

    Don't know what the weathers doing here today, it's gone from really really sunny to dark and rainy in 5 minutes and then back again.
    It could be worse, I could be filing.

      Well we got snowed on a bit at the end of our walk and that continued for about 20 minutes - just light flurries - and now we've got a blue, blue sky with only a couple of big fluffy clouds. It is cold out. I've just taken a peak at the weather link and it's 5.4C - that's in one of the southern suburbs of Athens - but with the wind factor it's only 2C. That would be about right. Feels more like zero here because of the wind. Kind of gusty. First time this winter (well Spring now) that it's been this cold. Okay, that's today's weather report for Stirly-World.

              English Writer - Dont you worry! I went to bed at midnight, woke up once in the night and finally emerged at 10.30am!

              Hope everyone is well - Raining here today after 2 days of lovely sunshine and of course I need to be out in several different places today! Gah!

              Plus I only have DECAF coffee left! Grrrrr!

                So sorry to hear this. Hope it goes as well as it can for you.

                Two casual friends of mine also have a funeral today, for their 19 year old cousin who was 8.5 months pregnant and stabbed (as well as her dog) and then her flat set on fire in the town we live in. Horrendous.

                    The dogs are waking me up EW - I have 2 chihuahuas, the one is doing her usual of lying on my lap and looking pretty and the other is in psycho dog mood already, thankfully she's so small, we can play fetch in here

                    Yeah, horrible sick crime. The guy charged was a friend of her boyfriend. I hope they have the right man and that justice will be served in time.

                      Ahh sounds like you have your hands full! Luckily my dog sleeps downstairs so he doesn't jump on me anymore!

                      Did I see that in the paper recently - a v young girl?

                        Your dog looks too big to be on your lap lol! Looks a lovely boy! Never thought I'd have chihuahuas - I dont completely fancy myself! LOL! I miss my Border Collie who died last year though but these two are a lot of fun Although the cat may disagree!

                        Yes, you would have seen it in the papers, if you google Nikitta Grender that was her.

                        I had forgotten what a help just rattling around on this forum is. I run my own large forum (Thank god as currently unemployed and it's paying the bills!!) but admitting this problem there just isnt an option for me and not many would 'get it' anyway. Some close friends there know as do many of my friends in my real life.

                        I do want to get back into work though as being an internet bum isnt what I thought it would be! I took redundancy at the end of November, cue my drinking career reaching epic proportions in December.... grrrr.

                        That reminds me, I need to make a call about a new volunteering opportunity that has come up in Citizens Advice.

                          That's a shame - I did see it quite a lot on the news. Awful people in this world

                          What kind of forum is it, if you can say? Yes this place is a big help as somewhere you can talk about this illness we have without being judged or feeling any shame. My family and best friends know, but having been successful in the past in business I always had to hide it for fear of getting the chop!

                          Sadly, that became impossible and I actually resigned from my last role before anyone found out.

                          I've also been looking at volunteering as a way to get back into the routine of work without the pressure to start with. Good luck!

                            Yeah, I took voluntary redundancy cos if I am honest I knew I could live off what I earnt and after a bad break up , just wanted to drink!!! Luckily it just took over a month for me to hit bottom and get my butt back to AA. As I said in Cymru's thread, I have still had my occasional moments but nothing like the massive binging that would last for days.

                            Well the phone call was ok, didnt ask me anything about myself, just my name, address, tel no and that I would hear from them in a few weeks!! Bah, I want something now. I am filling my days up ok (I should really get my butt moving to meet a friend later!) but not every day.

                            Dont want to post the link publically but I'll PM you - No , it isnt porn! Haha!

                              I know what you mean - breakups suck!

                              Hopefully they'll get back to you sooner. I am thinking of doing a 'pets for help' thing where you take your dog to meet sick kids as therapy. He needs to be evaluated first though so I hope he behaves!

                                It wasnt that bad really, just my alkie head blew it all out of proportion. It was off and on for 2 years and I knew it would never amount to anything (Long Distance)

                                That sounds a great idea re the Pets For Therapy! My Border would have been great but the chis ... um not sure lol!
