        Hi oney, yeah I have a lot of Japanese friends through my skating connections and several friends due to travel there next week for the figure skating world championships in Tokyo. Unimportant in the grand scheme of things right now though but I bet it gets cancelled.

        Meeting a friend from London later, I havent seen her since December so looking forward to that!

                Just got back on line after talking for an hour with my server company and then a few minutes with one son and then the other. I've been having touch and go internet the last few days and the girl that I spoke to at the server company said that probably my network card (whatever the heck that is) has gone south. So I called younger son and told him to check out prices for me and he told me that he's got his modem connected to his computer with a USB cord. Looked through the extra computer parts we have here. No extra USB cord. So I call older son who is the PC expert and I ask him in my best dumb Mummy voice - can I use the USB cord from the printer on the modem? I was expecting a "good grief Mom, can you make chicken soup with a piece of beef?" but it turns out that if the pluggy thingey fits into the modem, it can be used. He said there should be a USB CD in the box the modem came in. Luckily I happened to find the box in the first cupboard I opened. A rare event in Stirly's house. I find the CD, put it in the computer, plug the USB from the printer into the modem and Yay it fits. CD installs the programme and Bob's yer Aunty. I am totally chuffed with myself...... :wave:inkele: :dancin::danthin:

                But now I've spent so much time trying to figure this out that I haven't much time to read back over the posts....:upset:

                      Kitty - Didn't realise the world champs were there - sorry to say but going by the looks of thing I wouldn't be surprised if it got cancelled. I am starting to think 2012 predictions may well have been right! The World is falling to bits...

                          Only just now learned of the earthquake in Japan. OMG - 8.9 - I am shuddering just thinking about it. Those poor people. I've lived through a much smaller quake and it was so frightening. It must be terrifying to experience a quake of that magnitude.

                              Well skating is a small, strange world. I wouldnt expect anyone 'normal' to know lol.
