As for the 80th birthday - umm, I know how you feel about buying for someone who has everything, so give him something from YOU. A framed picture, or some kind of gift that reminds him of his lovely daughter.

Just back in from shopping - had a lovely day but I'm bollixed!

Kitty, when my mum got older and a bit less independent - she too seemed to have everything, so we used to organise a big day out of her choice - the zoo once, and picture and dinner another - with all her favourite grandchildren! She used to love those presents more than anything we could give her.
Off to check the plasterer - he drank turps instead of his water while I was out says his mouth stings a bit

Mind you we had some viewers came to our old house stayed about 2 hours had a cup of tea and we thought they were a sure thing. Later on a couple came stayed 10 minutes and left.
