          Wikipedia says this about electrolytes....

          Rehydration
In oral rehydration therapy, electrolyte drinks containing sodium and potassium salts replenish the body's water and electrolyte levels after dehydration caused by exercise, excessive alcohol consumption, diaphoresis, diarrhea, vomiting, intoxication or starvation. Athletes exercising in extreme conditions (for three or more hours continuously e.g. marathon or triathlon) who do not consume electrolytes risk dehydration (or hyponatremia).[1]

A simple electrolyte drink can be home-made by using the correct proportions of water, sugar, salt, salt substitute for potassium, and baking soda.[2] However, effective electrolyte replacements should include all electrolytes required by the body, including sodium chloride, potassium, magnesium, and calcium that can be either obtained in a sports drink or a solid electrolyte capsule.[3]

Electrolytes are commonly found in fruit juices, sports drinks, tomato soup and many fruits and vegetables (e.g. potatoes, avocados).

X post all. Stirls - I think that's it...I lost a lot of electrolytes this time. I need to replace them.
I am going to try that home remedy and see how I feel. X

                Recipe for home-made electrolytes fluid
                February 21st, 2006 at 02:58 pm

1 liter boiled water (has to be cool)
                1 tablespoon sugar
                1 teaspoon salt

mix well. lasts for 24 hours, after that, throw away the remainder (sp?)

If the person is throwing up, has to be fed by spoonfuls, approx 1 spoonful every minute (even for babies - do NOT feed in baby bottle if baby has vomited)

You can also make some chamomile tea and ad 1 tablespoon sugar and 1 teaspoon salt, for a nicer flavor...

Cass - sounded like you were having a bad night last night. Dunno if it's just me or not, but I find lack of sleep can sometimes cause a really bad headache all day and the only way to fix it is to have a nap. Might be something to try if the electrolytes don't work.

                                :hallo: Hiya Army

Sorry you're feeling so bad, Cassia :l

Everybody else doing OK, I hope?

I've been lazy and relaxed today... lots of time in the pool, reading the Sunday papers, eating numerous cupcakes (the youngest decided to bake) and then a looooooooooooong nanna nap. It's great that tomorrow is a holiday! Woohoo!!!
