She would have been 17 in May, expatty. I'm fortunate enough to still have another adorable 8-year old cat (Poppy) to keep me company. I will leave it for a few months and then maybe have a think about getting a kitten.

Aww bless her. Thanks for sharing Reccie.

Such wonderful things are pets to have, such terrible things to lose.

Reccie, please try to look on the positive side of things. You were so lucky that she lived so many years and kept you company. And she, too, that she had your loving care for so long. Not often we are blessed with having our pets in our lives for that many years. Keep her spark and companionship and the happy memories close to you. :l:l

That is a long time Reccy. I know you'll miss her--well, you'll never forget her. Lucky girl to have been in such a loving home for so long. I've had cats but never for such a long time. They always seemed to go missing after a few years. She obviously had a good life with you. Pug dog has been with us for 7 years now (ok, his name is Etienne-Stephen in French. I've been too ashamed to admit it.) My daughter named him when she was only six yrs old after her little brother was born. She picked it out of the baby name book we used for her brother. Holly is a lovely name for a girly cat.

                    Yo Cassia,
                    First things things first.
Pin big notice on front door with

                    PASSPORT,TICKETS,MONEY
                    on it.

Next check flight time 300 hundred times

Next get passport out over and over to check expiry date.

Locate phone charger at bottom of suit case, put it bag, 10 minutes later look again, repeat until you cry.
It could be worse, I could be filing.

:H YOU are so right JC! That's what I tell myself when I travel now. Just make sure you have the tickets and a credit card...and get there WELL in advance. Anything else can be arranged. Oh shite! And the passport! Ok. You'll be great. See you all in the morning. I'm going to start The Big Chill.

Reccie: so sorry to hear about Holly :l

I just popped in to say goodnight. Quickly going to help Mrs. T pack her overnight bag for her Joburg trip, then off to bed before the alarm jolts us awake at an ungodly hour :upset:

See you on the morrow :l

That still doesn't exclude emptying entire contents of hand luggage on the floor in Starbucks just as they announce the flight.
