It's to be expected that the thought of having a drink or two to relax will be popping into your head. It happens to us all. Try to find a way to get through the cravings. A long, leisurely walk where you take in the sights and sounds around you, a good movie that you've been wanting to see or that new book that's waiting to be opened. Call a friend and have a good old yap on the phone for an hour or so. In your head, go through all the reasons you don't want to pick up that first drink. Write it down if that will help. Remember how bad you feel today and promise yourself that you'll feel better tomorrow. You didn't drink much last night but the next time could easily be more. Your daughter's wedding is on the weekend. You'll want to feel your best and look your best for that so you can enjoy it as much as possible and have those wonderful memories clearly etched in your mind. And AL ain't gonna help you do either. Chin up Mrs. A. You're a bloody marathon winner. You can beat this, too....
Thank you so much I really appreciated that I will do all of the above and win that bloody Marathon in April.

I am not sure what to do now - head vs heart type thing....
Good news is getting Monkey out to Spain is easy enough and not a million bucks.
Anyway I feel like I hijacked this thread..

Hi Guys
EW just be careful about Monkey, its very easy to take them out of the UK but not so easy to get them back in. I have a pet passport for Elle but the process takes at least 6 months because of the rabies blood test."In the depths of winter I finally learned there was in me an invincible summer ."

You can take her out immediately to anywhere in Europe but she needs a passport to get back into UK. The rabies blood test needs to be done, then done again in 6 months to ensure its clear so you would need to get it done as soon as you get to Spain and know that Monkey couldnt travel for say 7 months back into UK. Once the passport is valid and you keep up the inoculations the dog can travel back and forward as much as you like. Its just the initial 6 months that are a problem if you were wanting to bring her back. (You can always pop over to Portugal and leave her with me if any emergencies )"In the depths of winter I finally learned there was in me an invincible summer ."

Bless ya!
OK, well I think if I did go I would have to go see how it goes for about 3 months, then bring him out, then after that as you say get him jabbed immediately just in case. Thanks for your help.
