Reccie I do use ear plugs but I use these ones. They're better than the ones you use....

Ear plugs 1100 (200 pair): Amazon.co.uk: DIY & Tools

These are better only because we sell them at our store and I get them for free..

EW, I hesitated to use those liquid flea medications because some years ago when they first came out, they used other chemicals and dogs developed liver problems from them. I just googled to see what's up with the newer products and it looks like they're safer now. If you're ever interested in a flea and tick collar tho', I use the Bayer brand and have never had any trouble. I don't think Freddie has ever had fleas anyway. When I first found him, he was full of ticks. Bloody ugly things they are. Here's a picture of what they look like. Sorry it's so big, I couldn't get it to the right size. Male is on the left, the other three pictures show the female in various stages of engorgement. Then she falls off and lays up to 3000 eggs which, after they hatch, can be found hiding in cracks, behind radiators, under rugs and furniture, and on draperies and walls.


I only realized that he had ticks when a huge female dropped off him one day at the store and I stepped on it without realizing it and walked around leaving red stamp marks all over the floor. I couldn't figure out where the blood had come from and started examining him really well. He was still a stray at that point who hung around our store all day so I'd never looked him over really well. I found some ticks and took him home a few days later and gave him a good bath. We had him out on the back balcony to dry him off and the ticks were falling off of him and walking on the floor and climbing the walls. It was freaky. He got his first flea and tick collar that very day. Okay, enough of that. Reccie, you're right, some of us can talk the hind legs off an elephant...
